Midtown Farm is situated in the picturesque, peaceful village of Dufton which is located at the foot of the Pennines, in Cumbria. Dufton offers easy access from the M6 or A1 (via the A66) and is a delightful conservation area which still retains a traditional village green and pub.
The farmhouse is a listed traditional 18th Century Westmorland longhouse providing a spacious and beautifully equipped base from which to explore the many attractions of the area.
The owners have carefully restored The Farmhouse (sleeps up to eight) to provide luxurious accommodation with lots of charm and original traditional features including the huge farmhouse stone fireplace, original oak shutters and stone pantry and many beams.
For those who want to explore this beautiful area on foot or by bike, there are good walks (both challenging and gentle) and cycle routes into the Pennines from the front door. You are also welcome to bring your dog (by prior arrangement) to enjoy the lovely walks. The Farmhouse is just a short drive to The Lake District, Hadrian's Wall and the borders of Scotland and Yorkshire, making it an ideal base to explore the northwest of England.
Alternatively simply relax in the garden or take a short stroll to the village pub!
There are plenty of attractions and things to do within an hours drive including: A "Via Ferratta" - an exciting new way to get up a mountain; paint balling; pony trekking; quad biking; "Go Ape" - an aerial playground with zip wires; bread making courses at an organic village bakery; steam trains; animal parks; an ice cream farm; sailing and canoeing.
Appleby-in-Westmorland is the closest market town and offers a variety of shops including a top quality butchers and bakers. The nearest large town is Penrith which is just twelve miles away, offering all the usual amenities such as supermarkets, cinema, and plenty of other shops.

The Farmhouse sleeps up to eight guests in four bedrooms andprovides exceptional luxury and comfort in a traditional Westmorland longhouse. All the rooms are bright, spacious and look out over Dufton village green. The house has retained much original character, but is also well equipped with modern conveniences.
Accommodation comprises:
Two spacious double bedrooms, one large twin and one smaller twin - the main bedroom with ensuite features a corner bath.
Additional bathroom with corner bath and shower.
Generous shower room.
Bright and spacious farmhouse kitchen with dining area providing all the conveniences of modern living.
Main reception room with its original stone fireplace and cosy log-burning stove. This spacious oak beamed room has comfortable seating for eight guests to relax around the fire. There is also a large dining table at the far end of the room.
Additional information: Short breaks of less than a week can be booked at any time outside peak periods, and may also be available during peak periods - please enquire with the owner. Discounts may be offered for bookings longer than one week, for couples, or for short notice (within 4 weeks of the intended stay). These discounts are only available by contacting the owners directly by phone or email. Towels provided. Freeview available.
