Squirrel Bank provides self catering accommodation for two guests and is ideal for couples who want to visit this popular part of the Lake District National Park. The cottage has been equipped and furnished to a high specification and is perfectly located within one miles walk to the very heart of Bowness on Windermere and Lake Windermere.

Guests can enjoy the peace and quiet of this lovely location, yet all the benefits that Bowness has to offer including a good variety of restaurants, interesting shops, traditional pubs, bars, gift shops and many attractions. These include: Beatrix Potter Museum, a small theatre, a cinema and the Aquarium of the Lakes to name just a few.

There are lake cruises which can be used as a way of getting from one local attraction to another, or simply as a relaxing way to explore the natural beauty of the area from the water's edge. Other attractions in the area include: Holker Hall House and Gardens, Muncaster Castle and Owl Centre, Sizergh Castle and Rheged - the village in the Hill.

The area offers fantastic outdoor activities which include fishing, golf, cycling, horse riding, water sports and superb Lakeland walks (maps and guides are provided in the cottage) and the owners are happy to share their local knowledge with you should you wish.

Sitting on the eastern edge of Lake Windermere, Bowness is one of Cumbria's most popular towns, in a wonderful lakeside setting where you can enjoy fantastic views over the lake to the mountains beyond. At any time of the year, Bowness makes a wonderful holiday destination with plenty to offer all ages and energy levels.
