Old Codgers Cottage sleeps four guests in two bedrooms and was built in the mid 19th Century using traditional Lakeland stone materials. Located in the popular village of Windermere, Old Codgers Cottage is ideal for a short break or long stay at any time of the year.
The holiday cottage is well positioned in the heart of the Lake District National Park with plenty of attractions within easy reach. It is also conveniently located in a pleasant residential area with restaurants, traditional pubs and shops just a few metres away and the Windermere railway station just five minutes on foot, making it a suitable holiday location for those who wish to leave the car at home.
Lake Windermere is the largest natural lake in the country and is less than a mile away from the cottage. From here you can take a ferry ride or hire a small pleasure craft to explore the shoreline and take in the beautiful sites around the lake.
Cumbria is one of the country's most picturesque regions and a vast incredible playground for those who enjoy outdoor activities or have an appreciation for stunning scenery. At the very north of England, the area offers an abundance of pretty towns and villages with specialist shops, cafes, restaurants and traditional pubs including old-fashioned Keswick, Coniston, Hawkshead and of course Windermere to name just a few. The area offers plenty of opportunities for enjoying outdoor activities including walking, sailing, mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing and so much more. Local attractions include Hilltop which was the home of Beatrix Potter, The National Park Visitor Centre at Brockhole, Wray Castle, Lakeside and Haverwaite Steam Railway, Dove Cottage which was once the home of William Wordsworth, The Beatrix Potter Museum and Gallery, Sizergh Castle and Levens Hall to name just a few.

Additional information: The cottage offers on street parking with a permit (supplied). Short breaks of three or four nights offered all year except June to September inclusive. Late deals may be available. Pet Friendly - small and medium sized well behaved pets welcome. No smoking inside the cottage.
