High Ground Cottage is located in an exceptional position, set within stunning scenery that will take your breath away.  This enchanting holiday cottage offers a tranquil haven where you can 'get away from it all' whilst enjoying superb comfort and style, total peace and quiet and fantastic walking from the front door.  There are also fun family attractions within just short drive away.

Full of comfy sofas, games and books and with a cosy open fire in one of the two sitting rooms, and a log-burning stove in the farmhouse kitchen, High Ground Cottage offers all you could want in a holiday home.

The cottage is a five minute drive from the post office and stores in Ulpha and just a little further on is the general store in Eskdale Green. Broughton-in-Furness is a very attractive and ancient little market town just seven miles away, which provides excellent food shops selling the best of local produce.  It also offers a bank, a post office, several inns and cafe/bread and cake shop. Some excellent local inns serving good food can also be found within an easy drive of High Ground with the nearest being just three miles away at the foot of the Hardknott Pass.

At High Ground Cottage you can simply sit outside and drink in the drama! Alternatively, explore the local area where you are spoilt for things to do including: taking a trip to the coast on the Eskdale to Ravenglass miniature steam railway; visit Muncaster Castle with its Owl Sanctuary and gardens; take a leisurely Lake cruise on Ullswater and Coniston; visit the wildly beautiful Wastwater lake nearby or have some fun at the Animal Park at Dalton or the Motor Museum at Holker Hall. With all the Lake Districts favourite attractions within just forty five minutes from the cottage, you can do as much or as little as you want!
