We loved our stay at George Cottage. It has been tastefully modernised to a good standard and was very clean, warm and comfortable. We were made most welcome by the friendly owners. It is in a quiet part of town with easy parking and is within easy walking distance of the town center with its many pubs and eating places. A small and compact unit ideal for two or three visitors who do not have difficulty with stairs which are steep as is usual in this type of property. We would have no hesitation in returning.
Exceptional property in the most beautiful part of the country. Stayed here as a birthday treat for my husband. Ideally situated for all parts of the Lake District, walking distance to the shops. Very well equipped cottage with beautiful fixtures and fittings and the bathroom really has the WOW factor with the biggest, deepest bath we've ever seen. If we return to this part of the country, this cottage will certainly be top of our list.
George cottage is a small but perfectly formed holiday home ideal for two but with a second bedroom enabling it to accommodate three. The cottage is situated in a quiet residential area less than 5 minutes walk away from the centre of Keswick which offers a whole host of good eating places (we particularly liked the Dog and Gun with its excellent goulash!!). Furnished to a high standard the cottage was also warm and cosy when returning from some excellent walks in the area. This was an ideal holiday home in an excellent location we hope to return in the near future.
Spent a week in George Cottage with my mother who is a pensioner. The cottage is modern, well equiped, clean and comfortable. The owners are local which is handy in the event of any queries/problems. It has private parking which is a bonus, as otherwise it would have at times been difficult to park the car nearby. The cottage is only a 5 minute walk from the town centre, and is an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area. I would definately come back to stay again.
The owner responded promptly to all emails and gave good directions to the cottage. The cottage itself is small but beautifully restored and very comfortable. There isn't a garden but there is one private parking space adjacent. It is located in a quiet side road a level, easy walk (approx 10 mins)from the centre of Keswick which has every facility a visitor could wish for. The surrounding area is superb for walkers of all abilities. For me, the best thing about the cottage was the big, comfortable bed! The only slight downside was the steep staircase which took a bit of getting used to. Overall, an excellent holiday let for single, couple or small family rental in a convenient position within a beautiful area.
We have been going to the Lakes for New Year for the last four years and this has been our best accommodation by far. It is cosy, well equipped and very well located. It was spotless. The owners were very accommodating. We hope to return again soon. Would highly reccomend George Cottage, it is lovely. Pick this one!
