Rutter Falls Holiday Cottages are in a truly magnificent location, set at the foot of a beautiful waterfall within the Eden Valley in Cumbria - near to the Lake District, providing two luxurious holiday cottages. Ford Cottage and The Watermill make a perfect getaway at any time of the year.
The site has historical references dating back to 16th Century and is set in its own nature reserve. Relax and unwind, whilst watching deer, red squirrels, dippers, heron, kingfishers, goldcrest and many more. You may even see spawning salmon at the right time of year! An exciting newcomer is the elusive otter.
The Eden Valley is one of Cumbria's best kept secrets with its beautiful lush meadows and rolling fields, edged with hedgerows and dry stone walls, giving a sense of wide open space. With lovely quiet roads, this area is ideal for cycling enthusiasts and the countryside and fells provide excellent walking opportunities with many paths to choose from.
Closeby are the market towns of Appleby and Kirkby Stephen where you will find historic buildings and a range of lovely independent shops offering antiques, crafts and local specialties.
The Northern Lakes are very accessible as are trips to the Pennines, North Cumbria and the Scottish Borders.
If you enjoy walking, would like to see the many delights of the Eden Valley, or simply want to get away from it all in a beautiful setting, look no further.
