Had a great half-term stay. Central location with private parking. Nice comfy bed and clean contemporary decor. Soft leather sofas with wood burning stove and plenty of kindling and logs (great for a stay in February). Well equipped and modern kitchen(complimentary bottle of wine included!). Could not fault anything!
While the outskirts of Keswick are great in the Summer months,in the Winter it is the proximity of good eating places, shops and occasional takeaways that makes a break relaxing. Crag Cottage is less than 100 yards from the Square yet once inside, looking onto the tiny private garden, it feels as secluded as being in the depths of the countryside. The private car park and the wood burner really give this cottage a homely feeling.....and the beds are good too!
Coming from Spain we were concerned about the cold but we should not have worried. Crag Cottage was Warm, cosey and peaceful. A perfect retreat in the center of Keswick.
We really enjoyed our stay at Crag Cottage, so much so we are returning this year. If you are looking for a cosy place to stay central to Keswick then this is the place. Just make sure you don't book it when we want to stay or we will be very sad:( !!
My husband and I spent 3 relaxing days at Crag Cottage in the lead up to Christmas. The Cottage really was a hidden gem: quiet, beautifully decorated, modern, spacious, and well equipped - and about a 1 minute walk to the cobblestone streets of Keswick! The potbelly fire was perfect for romantic evenings, eating our home cooked dinner and watching the snow fall outside! The bed in particular deserves specific mention as it was one of the most comfortable we had ever slept in! The owners really went above and beyond, leaving a decorated Christmas tree with lights in the cottage, and a complimentary bottle of wine. We will definitely be back to stay again.
You will not find a more central location than this delightful terraced cottage. Very well appointed with all facilities on the doorstep combined with great service from Alex this really is a little gem.
