Coal Yeat Cottages offer a truly unique and captivating experience and are the perfect place to get away from it all and relax within the beautiful Lake District. It is perfect for those who enjoy walking with The "Cumbrian Way" passing within metres of the door and unlimited local walks direct from Coal Yeat.
Alternatively you may choose to be at one with nature and explore Lowick Common which provides 1200 acres of abundant wildlife, hidden tarns and panoramic views from the top of the Beacon. Here you are likely to see deer, hares, badgers, toads, herons and many birds of prey.
For those who enjoy fishing, the owners are able to offer FREE fishing (subject to holding the correct license which is available locally) where you can fish for Sea Trout and Salmon on the River Crake (half mile stretch) you can fish on the local well stocked carp pool (additional charge).
If you are looking for a holiday in the Lake District without too many tourists and sophisticated well equipped holiday accommodation then Coal Yeat is for you. It offers two contemporary open plan holiday cottages which have been imaginatively designed to ensure your holiday is relaxing and memorable. Both cottages are ideal for both family holidays and also for couples who want to get together. If both cottages (Yan and Tyan) are hired together they can provide a unique environment for groups of up to 11 guests.
Both 'Yan' and 'Tyan' offer a breathtaking outlook over the beautiful Lakeland fells. They are situated between the festival town of Ulverston and the village of Lowick in the Crake Valley on a private estate on the southern fringe of the Lake District National Park. Here you can enjoy total isolation and yet be less than three miles from Ulverston where you will find all the amenities of the popular market town including shops, restaurants, inns, sports centre (with swimming pool & gym) and a championship golf course.
The Crake Valley winds it way from Coniston Water through: Lowick (with 14th century coaching inn); old Lakeland working bobbin villages and fertile fields and woodland until ultimately reaching Morecambe bay.

Yan is on the ground floor and offers a spacious lounge area with deep sofas where you can relax and enjoy SKY TV, a DVD, CD or listen to your IPOD (docking provided). A stylish island links this area to the solid wood and granite kitchen which is equipped with dishwasher, electric oven, ceramic hob, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer and dining table.
The master bedroom is luxuriously furnished with contemporary furnishings and benefits from double window outlook, built in wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom including large shower bath, heated towel rail and storage cupboards. There is also a further double bedroom and bunk bedroom (full adult size beds) which both share a shower room with heated towel rail and toilet.
Outside there is a private walled natural garden which has a dry stone outbuilding providing bike storage and housing garden furniture and BBQ.
Tyan is a first floor property, accessed by an external staircase and intimate conservatory. The holiday accommodation is light, airy and has been thoughtfully restored to retain its character beams, sloping roof and eaves.
There is a lovely ash and granite kitchen which is fitted with dishwasher, microwave, electric oven, ceramic hob, washing machine, fridge and freezer.
Tyan is furnished in a contemporary style and is open plan. It has a large lounge area with comfortable sofas tranquil lighting and large glass double doors which open onto a balcony offering the perfect place to enjoy a drink whilst enjoying the spectacular views over the Lakeland fells.
There are two double bedrooms and a single bedroom which are all furnished luxuriously with built in wardrobes. There is a family bathroom with heated towel rails and also an additional WC with washbasin. An additional 'Zed' bed can be provided if required.
Directly in front of Tyan is a rural garden with garden furniture, BBQ and outbuilding for storing walking boots etc.
Additional information: Electricity, Gas Central Heating and unlimited Hot Water are included within the price, along with essentials (e.g. dishwasher tablets, cleaning items, toilet rolls etc); Sky TV (Basic package only) is fitted: Duvets, pillows and linen are provided; A dog is welcome but must be kept off furniture and not be left at any time; Please enquire about short breaks.
