Clancy cottage sleeps two to four people in a family bedroom, and with wonderful views of Wasdale is a firm favourite with regular guests. The cottage is one of Hallflat Farm's five character holiday cottages that form part of a range of 18th Century farm buildings situated in spectacular Wasdale within the Lake District National Park. The holiday cottages provide comfortable self catering accommodation and an ideal base for exploring the remote, uncommercialised western fells and lakes.

Formerly a working farm, the cottages are set amongst seven acres of woodland and meadows, bordered by the River Irt with its rocky pools and cascades.

An ideal place for walkers, the cottages gives easy access out onto the open fell, leading on to the Wastwater Screes and beyond to the Scafell range. There are plenty of low level walks within the area through open countryside and wooded areas, alongside rivers and lakes with great country pubs along the way (the closest pub is just three hundred and fifty yards from the cottages - The Bridge Inn, serving food, ale and welcoming dogs and children.

There are plenty of other outdoor activities to enjoy within the local area including: horse riding, fishing, sailing, golf, mountain biking and swimming. The area’s other attractions include: Muncaster Castle and owl centre; the ancient Roman fort on Hardknot Pass; the minature steam railway that runs along the valley of Eskdale; and Wordsworth’s birth place in Cockermouth. The popular tourist centres of Keswick, Ambleside and Windermere are also within reach, but far enough away for the western lakes to retain its individual unspoilt character.
