Fox Howe is a wonderful new luxury holiday cottage conversion that sits in an enviable elevated position in the village of Back Barrow, in the very heart of the Southern Lake District. It is one of a handful of small villages that are ideally clustered close by and around the south western reach of Lake Windermere.
The cottage is a perfect rural holiday retreat with modern and comfortable luxury throughout. Fox Howe is more reminiscent of a contemporary hotel than what you would expect from a Lakeland holiday cottage. The 'cottage chic' styling, perfectly combined with modern luxuries such as multi room audio systems, mood lighting, heated bathroom floor, stunning granite kitchen, deep double bath and deep settees make Fox Howe a perfect holiday retreat.
Boasting two contemporary and comfortable double bedrooms, sleeping four guests, Fox Howe is perfect for chilling out in the company of friends or a romantic break. The fully fitted spacious bespoke cream and black granite kitchen provides everything you require to prepare a nice supper and the gardens that surround the cottage are ideal for alfresco dining. With a sloping country cottage garden and lawn to the front, along with a sunny patio area to the rear, there is plenty of space to relax and unwind.
Backbarrow provides a perfect peaceful setting to enjoy cycle rides or walks out from the front door - whether for a leisurely stroll among the hills, fells and tarns or just a quick visit to one of the four friendly pubs and hotels within walking distance. It is also an ideal base for exploring the beautiful landscape and many attractions of the Lake District National Park.
South West Cumbria and the Southern Lakes offer the best of both worlds – beautiful quiet open countryside yet within easy reach of the popular tourist destination and attractions of the Lake District. There are too many family days out to mention but they include: the South Lakes Animal Park at nearby Dalton; either the Eskdale miniature railway or Haverthwaite Steam Trains; Muncaster Castle with its owl sanctuary and adventure playground; The Lakes Aquarium; boat trips on Windermere or Coniston Water, along with plenty of watersports; Furness Abbey; the award winning gardens of Holker Hall; The Beatrix Potter Gallery and Grizedale Forest with its sculpture trails, way marked mountain bike tracks and Go Ape high wire rope course.
For those who enjoy the great outdoors, there are plenty of leisure activities nearby including lake swimming at Fell Foot, fishing, golfing, adrenalin sports, horse riding and canoeing. Alternatively just potter around and enjoy the atmosphere of the picturesque and ancient local villages with their winding streets, pretty cottages and historic buildings; or take a leisurely boat trip on a Lakeland Steam Cruise.
This part of the Lakes has so much to offer with some of England’s most beautiful scenery on your doorstep. With a huge range of tourist attractions, leisure activities and historical sites, you are sure to want to return time and time again.
