Cottontail Cottage is a delightful Lakeland holiday cottage that can accommodate up to six guests in three bedrooms. It is located in friendly village of Staveley which is located in the Lake District National Park and just three miles from Windermere.
Situated between Kendal and Windermere, Staveley is an excellent base from which to explore the Lake District and its many attractions. It is often referred to as the Gateway to the Lakes and sits at the foot of the Kentmere Valley on the eastern edge of the national park. Nestling between the Rivers Gowan and Kent, Staveley has a good range of amenities which include three pubs, a Railway Station and a variety of shops including a craft shop.
The surrounding area provides excellent opportunities for those who enjoy walking and cycling and bike hire is available in the bike shop located in the village. Nearby are the bustling towns of Windermere, Kendal, Ambleside and Bowness - all very popular with visitors and offering a wide variety of attractions and amenities to suit all ages. These include Lake Windermere itself where you can enjoy boat trips and water sports; the Lakeside Aquarium; the 'World of Beatrix Potter'; Grizedale Forest Park and the 'Windermere Steamboat Museum' to name just a few! Also within easy reach are Coniston Water, Keswick and the Lakeland Mountains all just waiting to be explored.
With its open fells, clear-water lakes and impressive mountains it is hardly any surprise that visitors return to the Lake District time and time again.

Additional information: Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement but please ensure they remain on the ground floor and are not allowed upstairs or on the furniture at any time. Welcome packs of organic wine and chocolates are available upon request. All our electricity is sourced from renewable suppliers (ecotricity).
