Garlands Retreat provides a comfortable and well equipped family holiday home with its own garden, conveniently situated in a quiet rural location with views over the nearby horse riding school paddocks.
Located midway between the historic town of Dover with its famous Castle, and the quaint seaside town of Deal. `Garlands Retreat` adjoins the owner’s house and stands in their own grounds of just over one acre in the small village of Sutton-by-Dover.
The Retreat has its own fenced garden and patio area with sun beds and barbecue. For those equestrian fans, there is a riding school within easy walking distance and a little further down the road, guests can enjoy the facilities of the nearby caravan park with its clubhouse entertainment and indoor swimming pool (entry charges apply).
Many footpaths cross the fields in the area and a twenty minute walk will take you to the nearest country pub in the village of Ripple, with its fine ales and excellent pub food. Alternatively, if you are feeling more energetic, you can walk across the fields to the Hare and Hounds a popular eating-house at Northbourne.
The nearby St Margaret’s Bay is a great place to eat with a choice of pubs and restaurants. The view is spectacular as the road winds down to the pebble beach. Alternatively, a ten minute drive will take you to the quaint seaside town of Deal which has everything you could want from an English seaside holiday including shops, restaurants, cafés, a pier with good fishing, golf course, leisure center and an outdoor paddling pool for the kids situated next to the pebble beach.
If you are interested in history, there are several castles to choose from, Dover being the largest, others at Deal and Walmer.
The Cathedral City of Canterbury is less than twenty miles away with a huge array of shops, pubs and restaurants, and of course the historic Cathedral itself. Dover Eastern docks are just fifteen minutes drive away, perfect for day trips to France.

Reviews and Testimonials for Garlands Retreat
Thank you ever so much for letting us stay in your beautiful place. You really thought of everything and we had a perfect time!! (David was crying, when we had to leave)
This is really the best place we ever stayed in, and we've been to quite many selfcatering cottages.
We'd definitly like to come back some time, if possible next year (as soon as we know, we'll contact you).
Hope to be able to stay with you again asap.
Kind regards
Ralf, Ina, David, Hannah and Johnny the dog

Thanks Lynne – we had a great time. It’s a really nice holiday home and brilliantly well equipped – we really appreciated all the games, DVDs, bbq, garden furniture etc and it was really nice for us being in a bungalow with a baby – no stairs to worry about.
Lovely location – we did day trips to Rye, Sandwich and Broadstairs and walked along the foothpaths in the fields – a really nice break for us,
Thanks again,
Tess

Hi
We had a wonderful holiday, the bungalow was so comfortable and stylish and in such a lovely rural location, yet within easy driving distance of all of East Kents attractions. We visited so many places and enjoyed every moment .
