Mrs Tiggywinkle's is situated within the peaceful rural village of Wellow, in West Wight. It is a pretty detached Grade II listed, 18th Century, thatched 'smugglers' cottage which has been carefully restored in recent years, whilst retaining all of its wonderful character and charm including exposed beams, a smuggler's cupboard and feature fireplaces.
Wellow is just a ten minute drive from the historic town of Yarmouth with its harbour for visiting yachtsmen and the terminal port for one of the car ferry routes. The location provides easy access for those wanting peace and tranquillity amongst glorious, unspoilt countryside. It provides the perfect place from which to explore the beautiful coastline, quaint hamlets and timeless villages at this end of the Island. The beaches at Colwell Bay and Compton are within easy reach, as are the spectacular headland at the Needles and the lovely Tennyson Down.
Other local attractions include: Dimbola Lodge, Fort Victoria, Yarmouth Castle and Chessell Pottery. The surrounding countryside is perfect for those who enjoy walking and the Hamstead Trail runs alongside the property, so don't forget your walking boots! There are plenty of pubs in the vicinity to gain refreshments or enjoy a meal or snack.
Travelling to the Isle of Wight: The majority of people travel by car on the Wightlink Lymington to Yarmouth ferry route, taking approximately 30 minutes (booking early is advisable).

Mrs Tiggywinkle's is furnished and equipped to a high standard and offers the following:
There is an open-plan lounge with dining and kitchen areas on the ground floor.
Steep stairs lead to the first floor where a very pretty double bedroom and bathroom with bath, basin and toilet, can be found.
The cottage also benefits from a small enclosed suntrap garden wtih patio furniture and barbeque.
Services - Night-storage heater and electric heater, log-burning stove, iron and vacuum cleaner are all provided. There is also a 24 hour laundry service upon request. Digital television and DVD player are provided for guests enjoyment.
Please note: the cottage has very steep stairs which are not suitable for infirm or very elderly persons.
