“The Sidings” sleeps up to six guests and is located in the village of Plockton, in a row of forty year old cottages, adjacent to the station (where steam trains run throughout the summer including the Royal Scotsman). It is a very comfortable, cosy holiday cottage and an ideal base for exploring the stunning scenery of the Scottish Highlands.
Plockton is known as the 'Jewel of the Highlands', sitting in the sheltered bay of Loch Carron, and located in the North West Highlands of Scotland. It is in a peaceful picturesque setting which was once based around crofting and fishing but today its natural beauty attracts tourists, artists and photographers from all around the world.
Magnificent in Grandeur and remote in tranquillity, the varied beautiful landscape of mountain, glen, sea and loch provides the perfect place for escaping the pressures of everyday life.
Plockton has an excellent selection of fish restaurants and hotels which provide food of a very high standard and traditional music can be enjoyed in the Plockton Inn.
"The Sidings" is perfectly positioned for enjoying spectacular walks to the beaches which are close by (locals and visitors have been known to swim there even in September!). It is a five to ten minute walk from the centre of Plockton and affords stunning views of the Craggs towering over the village.
The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for walking and it is a great location for exploring both Skye and Kintail which are within easy reach. There are seal trips - Plockton seal trip is a must - where you can sit back and take in the fantastic scenic views from the water.
Whether you are looking for a base from which to explore the Scottish Highlands or simply want to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and stunning Scottish scenery, this is a great location.

A Perfect 'home from home' everything you could possibly need has been thought of! The Sidings was very peaceful - a perfect base. We enjoyed Skye and exploring the immediate area. Our only regret is we couldn't stay longer but we will be back!
