Decorated in delightful hill and heather tones, The Cottage exudes true “Modern Highland Chic”. It has been furnished to a high standard with under heated stone and oak floors, oversized feather topped beds and the use of sumptuous fabrics throughout. All displaying a high level of attention to detail that should satisfy even the most discerning guest.
This newly built wooden cottage is located behind Mackay’s Rooms & Restaurant in the heart of Durness and is ideal for a romantic break for two or a week away with family and friends.
Durness lies in the county of Sutherland on the North West tip of Great Britain in the beautiful expanse and wild remote of Cape Wrath. It enjoys one of the most breathtaking and dramatic landscapes in Europe and provides a combination of spectacular natural features, not least the stunning coastline of towering cliffs and golden beaches which are backed by barren moorland and rugged mountains.
The abundance of wildlife and vast open space can be overwhelming, which combined with some of the best walking country in the world, makes this a truly wonderful place to explore.
This is a perfect base for exploring the fantastic North West Highlands of Scotland and if you want to truly relax and escape household chores, the owners can offer dinner and breakfast at the hotel.

Downstairs
Spacious fully equipped kitchen/dining room - This area provides comfortable accommodation perfect for relaxing. You can either curl up in front of the fantastic multi-fuel stove in one of the oversized chairs or go through the patio doors onto the deck where you can enjoy a glass of wine whilst taking in the sea views.
Necessary utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer and plenty of space for those wet clothes and muddy boots.
Double bedroom and large shower room downstairs.
Upstairs
Large comfortable master bedroom.
Smaller twin room.
Bathroom with oversized bath.
The Cottage is tastefully decorated and equipped with the latest modern facilities. The fully equipped kitchen has Smeg range cooker, microwave, American fridge freezer, dishwasher etc. The sitting room has a large LCD wall mounted television with DVD player, stereo and a docking station for your I-Pod.
Additional information: Dogs are welcome (at an additional charge of £20) but not allowed upstairs or on the furniture and must never be left alone in the cottage. No other animals allowed! The cottage is strictly non-smoking. The tariff includes a bottle of sparkly on arrival, all bed linen and towels (one bath and hand towel per person) complementary toiletries; and is inclusive of electricity and a full log basket for the stove.
