Croft103 is located on the shores of Loch Eriboll, in North West Sutherland and incorporates two exceptional five star holiday homes, Shore Dwelling and Hill Dwelling. Sitting in a stunning area of unparalleled natural beauty, these two exceptional low impact buildings have been built, perfectly combining the very best in traditional craftsmanship, with a cutting-edge contemporary design. The owners have put in an incredible amount of care and attention, to create the ultimate luxury retreat for couples who want to escape the pressures of every day life and be a world away from it all, together.
With the owner's expertise as owner and managers of Mackay’s Hotel in Durness, they have created a completely new type of holiday experience on their family croft. One that has been a labour of love and which they are very proud to share with you. Their approach is one of sustainability, quality and providing an experience that is fully sympathetic with the natural surrounding environment.
Located six miles east of Durness, Croft 103 sits in a wild remote and beautiful position where you can enjoy exceptional views over the sea loch and mountains. The area is a haven for wildlife and the vast open landscape creates an overwhelming experience. Durness and its surrounding area provides some of the finest walking opportunities worldwide with spectacular natural features including a stunning coastline, expansive moorland and golden beaches backed by rugged mountains. Here you can stroll along the sandy beaches, spotting puffins, porpoises and whales whilst taking in the breath taking scenery.
The areas award winning beaches are often noted in guides for being amongst the most inspoilt and visually stunning of their kind. If golf is your passion then why not enjoy a round at Durness Golf Course, one of the most beautiful and remote courses in the country that is often listed as a ‘must be played’ for any golf lover. The area is also excellent for water sports including surfing and diving.

Hill Dwelling features a stunning fan-shaped design, which perfectly complements the contours of the spectacular surrounding landscape.
Affording a south-facing aspect, this luxurious holiday retreat strikes a perfect balance between intimacy and spaciousness. It offers a sumptuous seven foot feather-topped bed which is the center piece of the bedroom and the unique design throughout is complimented by a range of specially commissioned fixtures and fittings. The bathroom is adjacent to the incredible bedroom, and offers both a bath and a walk-in double shower lined with polished Caithness stone. Guest's also have the luxury of a second bath located outside on the secluded patio overlooking the sea (both baths are designed for two!).
The dining area and lounge provides all the right ingredients for relaxing where you can sit back and marvel at the incredible view over the sea loch. With beautifully upholstered furniture and floor coverings in Anta tweed, dining table, wood-burning stove, Wi-Fi and state-of-the-art home entertainment system, everything is provided to ensure your stay is memorable. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed to prepare high quality Scottish meats, locally sourced shellfish and to also store ample wine for the duration of your holiday. Facilities include a modern cooker, fridge freezer and dishwasher and there is a separate laundry room with washing, drying and storage facilities.
The Shore Dwelling is a bold, barrel-shaped building that affords breathtaking, ever changing views of the sea, mountains and sky. Its expansive windows allow you to truly appreciate the spectacular views, where the light floods in, providing a sense of space and tranquillity from morning through to nightfall.
Here, the outside becomes the inside, with the open-plan kitchen and dining area that leads out to the spacious patio. Fully equipped to meet all your culinary needs, Shore Dwelling has a microwave, modern cooker, dishwasher and fridge freezer, along with a barbeque outside.
Like Hill Dwelling, this delightful holiday home affords a fabulous seven foot feather-topped bed with the use of natural fabrics and materials incorporated into the design, including woollen rugs, ceramics and meticulous stonework surrounding the property.
Prices for 2012:
January to March: Weekly rates: £1000.00 per week; Short breaks: £220.00 per night (minimum three nights).
April to October: Weekly rates: from £1400.00 per week; Christmas/New Year: £1600.00.
Additional information: Dogs are accepted at an additional charge of £25 per dog.
