Dornie Lodges offer a choice of three self catering holiday Lodges in the delightful village of Dornie. Picturesquely situated at the point where Loch Duich, Loch Long and Loch Alsh merge together, Dornie is just ten miles from Kyle of Lochalsh, the main crossing point to the Isle of Skye.
The village centre is only a ten minute walk along the shore of Loch Long and offers a well-stocked shop, a Hotel with restaurant and public bar (good for bar meals!) and a pub which provides excellent ale and very good bar meals.
Eilean Donan Castle is Dornie's most famous landmark which is world-renowned and a star of screen, calendar and even shortbread box! The castle is just a few minutes walk from the village centre and is 'a must' to visit.
This beautiful area offers stunning scenery & excellent walking opportunities. The surrounding mountain and loch scenery is simply stunning and there is easy access to all levels of walking and climbing. For those feeling energetic there is a wealth of challenging hillwalking available within just a few miles, including the Five Sisters of Kintail and Glenshiel to the South, the Torridon Range in the North and the Cuillins of Skye to the West. For those wanting to relax there are easy lochside and riverside walks straight from the front door.
There are plenty of attractions & activities to enjoy within the surrounding area. Visit the Iron Age brochs at Glenelg and from here you can also still take a short ferry trip across to Skye. You can go horse-riding locally and visit Lochalsh Woodland Garden at Balmacara. There are boat trips from Kyle of Lochalsh and Plockton, providing plenty of interesting things to see and each only a few minutes' drive away.
Whether you are looking to simply relax in a beautiful lochside setting or explore this wonderful area, Dornie Lodges provide an ideal holiday retreat.
