The Old School House can accommodate up to five guests in three bedrooms and has recently been refurbished to a high standard, retaining the original features including counting marks made by children on the walls 200 years ago. There is a wealth of beams and a cosy wood burning stove in the L shaped sitting room, making it suitable for a holiday at any time of the year.
A separate dining room leads through to the kitchen with an Aga and the impressive stairwell goes all the way into the eves with three bedrooms and a shower room leading off making the cottage perfect for a family holiday whilst exploring London and Hertfordshire.
Set within the hamlet of Roundbush, this delightful three bedroomed former school house offers a tranquil oasis within the M25 an ideal base from which to explore London. The Roundbush Pub is located within walking distance behind the cottage and offers excellent cuisine.
In the next hamlet there is a public golf course and the town of Radlett (distance two miles), has many restaurants where you will be spoilt for choice, with some also offering home delivery. The rural shopping village at Battlers Green Farm is a short walk away across the fields and offers a well stocked farm shop/delicatessen, butchers, fishmonger, florists, antique shop, Aga and Fired Earth stores and a delightful tea room.
The city of St Albans is definitely worth a visit, with its Abbey, quaint streets and famous Roman sites - Market days are Wednesday and Saturday.
BBC Elstree Studios, Hatfield House, St Albans and Watford are all within just a thirty minutes drive and Wembley Stadium, London and Whipsnade Zoos are less than forty five minutes - all of these venues are within twenty miles of the cottage making it centrally located.
