Yew Trees cottage is located up a quiet country lane in a lovely position at the foot of the Black Hill. Its location offers guests easy access to the Black Mountain range where you can enjoy walking, hang-gilding, horseriding, canoeing, mountain biking, golf, twitching or simply enjoying the peace and quiet of this beautiful area.
There is a great local pub (The Bull's Head) within walking distance of the cottage which serves fantastic local ales, farmhouse ciders and delicious food.
The cottage itself is well located offering spectacular views of the Monnow Valley to the front and the Black Hill to the rear. It is approximately eight miles southeast of Hay-on-Wye which is famous for its many bookshops and Norman Castle.
Hereford is sixteen miles away and is a very pretty town, lying on the River Wye with its beautiful cathedral containing the world famous Mappa Mundi (medieval map of the world dating from the 13th century) and the Chained Library.
The Brecon Beacons National Park is close by and its diverse terrain of moorland, forestry plantations and rolling valleys provide a wealth or activities for those who enjoy the 'great outdoors'.

The original cottage has been thoughtfully extended and designed by the owners to have the living areas upstairs where the stunning views can be enjoyed to their best. The bedrooms and amenities are located downstairs.
Accommodation and faciliites include:
Central living room featuring a wood burning stove - ideal for curling up in front of on those chilly nights!
Open plan kitchen and dining area featuring a dining table, twin electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and fridge freezer. A stable door offers access to a raised area of the garden and a summertime picnic table via a bridge.
One double, 1 twin and 1 bunk bedroom.
Bathroom with bath/shower, basin and WC.
Additional shower-room with shower and basin - so no fighting over the bathroom in the morning!
Separate WC.
Outside there is a bridge from the kitchen leading to a grassed area with picnic table. The front garden has raised patio area and grass area and there is parking for three cars maximum. Sun loungers are provided during the summer and the garden is fenced.
Additional information: The price includes logs for woodburning stove & nightstorage heaters during the winter. Electricity for lighting and other appliances is given through a meter that takes £1 coins. Pets are welcome for a small additional charge.
