Riof Ocean Cottage is located in the heart of Uig, a thriving township on the Hebridean Island of Lewis. It is in a wonderful position on the shore of Loch Roag and just a short stroll from the beautiful beach. The island is famous for its stunning scenery, white sands and the warm welcome and hospitality of the local people. It is also where the treasured Lewis Chessmen were found.
The holiday cottage offers four star luxurious self catering holiday accommodation and is also graded M2 for disabled access. It is seconds from the Loch shore and just five minutes from the beach. There is lots of room if you want to bring your own kayaks, boat or bikes which can be stored outside the cottage.
You could not wish for a more perfect base from which to explore the Hebridean Islands of Lewis, Bernera and Harris and you are just minutes away from adventure! There is superb salmon and trout fishing on several of the Island Estates, Kayaking, Golf, Sea Safari's, Surfing, Kiting, Windsurfing, Hill walking, Cycling, Bird Watching and that's just for starters!
The cottage has a built in barbeque where you can cook your freshly caught fish and seafood. It provides the perfect place to escape from the pressures of every day life. Relax outside with a glass of wine by the shore whilst watching the Eagles soar. You may also be lucky enough to see one of the notoriously shy otters.

Riof Ocean Cottage is graded M2 for disabled access, has been awarded Four Star rating from Visit Scotland and has also been awarded a Bronze rating from Green Tourism.
Accommodation comprises:
Open spacious lounge/kitchen with a wood burning stove (peat and wood provided).
Kitchen area which is fully equipped with all modern appliances.
One spacious master bedroom with double bed.
One twin room with large bunk beds.
Bathroom - large disabled friendly bathroom with level entry shower. Towels are provided and a lovely range of locally produced Hebridean soaps have been specially selected for guests to try.
Additional information: Decked area overlooking the shore with wooden patio furniture, where you can sit and admire the views. A built in barbeque is located at the side of the house. It is possible to launch small boats, kayaks and canoes from the shore next to the cottage (visitors do so at their own risk). Groceries can be pre-ordered and be put in the cottage for arrival. There is under floor heating throughout. Electricity is included in the letting price. All linen and towels are provided.
