This delightful self catering holiday apartment has been awarded 4 stars by Visit Britain and is exceptionally well equipped and maintained by the owners to a very high standard.
Old Walls Apartment is located in the village of Milford-on-Sea and just over a mile away (just a few minutes drive) from where the New Forest National park boundary begins.
The village of Milford-on-sea is a traditional coastal village with wonderful views over Hurst Castle, the Needles and beyond to the Isle of Wright. It still has many character listed properties (Old Walls being one of them!) and retains much of its early 20th Century character. Magnificent cliff top and woodland walks are immediately on the doorstep and within just a short drive you are in the heart of the New Forest, making this an ideal base for exploring the area and ideal for those who enjoy walking and cycling.
Milford's focal point is the village green where you will find a good mixture of shops including a grocer, baker, butcher, fish monger, chemist, off license, post office, bank, newsagent, souvenirs, coffee places, restaurants and pubs. From Milford beach a shingle spit leads to Hurst Castle, and from here you can take a passenger ferry to Keyhaven with its fishing and sailing harbour, historic Gunn Inn and sea-wall walks through Keyhaven Nature Reserve.
This is an ideal base for exploring both the Hampshire and the Dorset coast, along with the New Forest area. Under three miles away is Lymington, well known for its picturesque quay area, Saturday market, sailing and ferry to Yarmouth, on the Isle of Wight. Beaulieu is just ten miles away, and is probably the most famous of the New Forest villages. Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House and the gardens are open to visitors, and the grounds hold the National Motor Museum where you can see the country's finest collection of vintage motor vehicles.
A few miles from Beaulieu is Bucklers Hard, which is a tiny 18th century hamlet on the banks of the river, and for those who want to venture a little further afield, Salisbury, Portsmouth, Winchester, Bournemouth, Poole, Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills are all within easy reach.
