Old Keepers Cottage is a charming holiday cottage that nestles within seventy five acres of beautiful and diverse private ancient woodland, providing a wonderland for children and a relaxing peaceful holiday retreat. Located within the beautiful Test Valley, in West Hampshire, there are plenty of attractions and places of interest to visit nearby.
The detached cottage sleeps six guests who can enjoy newly refurbished and decorated accommodation, including a beautiful light and airy sitting room and modern bathroom. Outside guests also have a private terrace with table and chairs for eight, gas barbeque, gravel parking area and landscaped garden.
Within a stones throw of the cottage (approximately three hundred yards) you can walk through the forest to the lake where you maybe lucky enough to spot a deer or two on the way. Once at the lake you can enjoy a picnic in the peace and serenity of the beautiful surroundings or do some trout fly-fishing.
Whether enjoying the bluebell woods in spring, the wild flowers and butterflies in summer or the autumn colours, there is something of interest all year round. The historic market town of Salisbury with its famous Cathedral is just five miles away, and the World Heritage site of Stonehenge is just beyond. Salisbury has lots to offer, including a variety of restaurants, pubs, delicatessens, an Antiques Centre and a wide range of shopping, from boutiques to high street names.
In the other direction (just five miles) you have access to the New Forest National Park - a stunning area of outstanding natural beauty, where you will see ponies, donkeys, cows and deer roam freely. There are many wide open heathlands and rolling valleys, covered with ferns, heather and gorse and a multitude of paths and little streams which can be explored by foot, bike or horseback. With its many character villages, farm shops and extensive selection of pubs, the New Forest offers a wide range of family acitivites, including: horse riding; mountain biking; walking; fishing; swimming; country houses; amusement parks and water sports including sailing, adrenaline sports and much more.
Travel a little further on and you have Bournemouth with its glorious beaches and Southampton (forty minutes away). London too is within easy reach and just one and a half hours.

This charming self catering holiday cottage has just been renovated to a very high standard and provides bright and spacious accommodation as follows:
Lounge with seating for six guests, plasma Freeview satellite television and DVD player. Within the lounge there is a dining area suitable for six, plus a highchair is available if required.
Kitchen with vaulted ceiling, fitted fan oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher.
Family bathroom on the ground floor, with a large bath and a full wet-room shower.
Large double bedroom downstairs, which has a king-size bed with luxury new mattress and bedding.
Upstairs is a large and flexible space, which can be either for a couple or family of four. There is a day bed which transforms into a double bed, plus two single beds. Both bedrooms have black out blinds and a travel cot can be provided.
Private terrace (off the lounge) with table and chairs for eight, Gas barbeque, landscaped garden, parking area and the woodlands.
Additional information: The cottage is supplied with clean linen and tea towels, with a bath towel for each guest. The accommodation is suitable for disabled visitors - downstairs there is a spacious double bedroom and a large downstrairs wet room. There is also a travel cot, highchair, iron, ironing board, hair drier and bicyles to use. You can also clay pigeon shoot and fly- fish by prior arrangement and an additional charge. Well behaved pets allowed.
