Duck Island Cottage can accommodate up to five guests in two bedrooms and sits on the outskirts of the delightful market town of Ringwood on the edge of the New Forest. With the Candlesticks Inn almost next door and the town just a short level walk away, there are plenty of amenities and great eating establishments on the doorstep.
Conveniently located, Duck Island Cottage is ideal for touring the New Forest, Hampshire and Dorset with Bournemouth (with its beautiful sandy beaches), Salisbury, Christchurch and Southampton all within easy driving distance.
Ringwood is a charming historic town that sits on the River Avon. It has good bus and coach links to London, Bournemouth and Salisbury and offers excellent amenities as a town with a sports centre including a swimming pool, interesting shops, a weekly market and a great selection of pubs and restaurants.
Perfectly located between the forest and sea, there are plenty of attractions within easy reach. The nearest New Forest picnic spot is just three miles away at Linford Bottom; Moors Valley Country Park is approximately three miles with a narrow gauge railway, golf course, bike hire centre and 'Go Ape' for an exciting tree top adventure; The picturesque New Forest village of Burley, where you will see cattle and ponies roam freely, is approximately five miles; Poole is thirteen miles where you can take a day trip on a ferry to the Channel Islands and Lymington is twenty three miles providing ferry access the the Isle of Wight. Cycling, golf, pony trekking and fishing are all available locally.

Accommodation is comfortable for four and can accommodate an extra child, comprising:
Small living room with seating for four adults only, television with video, and gate-leg dining table that can seat five. Kitchen area along the length of one wall comprising full-size cooker, with 4-ring hob and integral grill, microwave oven, toaster, kettle and small larder fridge. Access to a freezer in the owners’ garage.
A spiral staircase takes you from the entrance hall up to the bedrooms and shower room with washbasin, toilet and shower (no bath). The smaller bedroom has built-in bunks that can accommodate adults and there is room for a cot (but this will leave little floor area). The family bedroom is spacious and has a double and single bed plus room for a cot.
Outside: There is a safe garden for youngsters which extends into the area used by the resident owners (who live in the adjoining cottage). The south-facing patio has table, chairs and a sunshade. There is a parking space next to the back garden gate.
Additional information: There is no washing machine, however, the owner is happy to wash a load of clothes during your stay if required. Well-behaved dogs are welcome (just up the road is a disused railway embankment which provides a convenient footpath for exercising dogs). Gas, electricity, hot water, bed linen and full central heating are included in the price. Please bring your own towels and tea towels and all cot bedding if applicable. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture.
