Watermouth Cove Cottages offer eight pretty holiday cottages that are located in tranquil grounds in a delightful secluded valley half way between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin on the North Devon Coast. Adjacent to Watermouth Castle which is one hundred and fifty years old, the cottages accommodate parties of four to eight guests individually and are perfectly positioned just two hundred yards from the sea. They are in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which offers dramatic scenery, woodland, moorland and a variety of beaches.

Formerly the stables and coach house of the castle, the cottages are enclosed in their own courtyard with a beautiful garden to the rear which is often visited by rabbits, foxes, jays, woodpeckers, visiting ducks from the nearby lake and plenty of garden birds, along with the occasional badger of a night.

The cottages are well equipped with full cooking facilities, ample crockery, fridges, microwaves and dishwashers. There is also a communal laundry room with washing machines, tumble dryer and public payphone and each holiday cottage has a television with DVD in the lounge.

Guests' are welcome to bring their well behaved pets with them and the area offers great walking opportunities with plenty of trails and footpaths to explore.

Watermouth Cove is within the parish of Berrynarbor and is a sheltered little harbour and rocky shoreline that is just two miles from both Ilfracombe and Combe Martin. Its sheltered position offers peaceful anchorage for small boats which can be seen bobbing on the water. There is also a slipway for those who want to bring their own boat.

For walkers, the Tarka Trail and South West Coast Path are easily accessible, as they meet at Watermouth Cove just two hundred yards from the cottages. Watermouth Cove is also on the edge of Exmoor which provides plenty more walking opportunities across the beautiful moor which is a haven for wildlife with red deer, birds of prey and the famed wild ponies to name just a few.

There is plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. The prize winning village of Berrynarbor with its first class restaurant and historic inn is just a few minutes’ drive from the cottages. Closer to home and under a ten minute walk from the cottages is the local pub, The Old Sawmill, which offers real ales and pub grub. Watermouth Cove Yacht Club also welcomes guests to their bar on Friday and Saturday evenings. Ilfracombe is a short drive and has Hele Bay, Rapparee and Tunnels beaches, along with delightful walks, gardens, pubs, restaurants, an exceptionally scenic coastal golf course, swimming pool and tennis courts. Boat trips are also available for visits to Lundy Island and fishing. Close by are the beautiful sandy surfing beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde, along with Saunton Sands.
