Maple Cottage accommodates up to four guests in two bedrooms and is ideal for two couples or a couple with one or two older children. It is located in a designated area of natural outstanding beauty on the fringe of the western edge of Exmoor and is ideal for those who want to enjoy all that North Devon has to offer.
The cottage is beautifully furnished and well equipped and sits within the village of Combe Martin, right beside the National Trust area of Heddon Valley, which also includes the Great and Little Hangman and Woody Bay.
Combe Martin lies in the heart of some of North Devon’s most beautiful scenery. As you approach Combe Martin you will see glimpses of some breath taking views. The two headlands of Great and Little Hangman are the main focal points, dominating the scene which greets visitors to the village as they make their way down to the sheltered pretty harbour below.
The beach which is just a half mile flat walk from the cottage, is a mixture of pebbles and sand with an interesting rocky shoreline, which at low tide extends into large areas of clean, firm sand. The rock pools will keep children (and adults!) amused for hours searching for sea creatures and for those who enjoy fishing, sea fishing for bass, mackerel and mullett is possible from the harbour and beach. There are also other good fishing sites nearby including Ilfracombe and Watermouth. At night the promenade is lit up and you can take a stroll and enjoy a meal in one of the restaurants or pubs.
Exmoor National Park is just a ten minute walk from the cottage where you can enjoy superb views of Combe Martin, excellent walks and see plenty of wildlife including red deer and the famous Exmoor Ponies.
There are plenty of local attractions including: the spectacular sandy beach at Woolacombe; National Trust property of Arlington Court; Dunster Castle; the popular seaside resort of Ilfracombe; fishing trips, wildlife cruises and trips to Lundy; and enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery at Mortehoe, Lynton and Lynmouth, to name just a few. Locally you can also enjoy swimming, cycling, horse riding, golf a theme park, a trip to the zoo and a theatre/cinema.

Reviews and Testimonials for Maple Cottage
"2 year old terraced cottage, very well equipped and furnished. Two bedrooms both with excellent en suite facilities. Comfortable lounge diner with acces to a small garden with decking and table and chairs + BBQ if needed. Kitchen fully equipped with all mod cons. The whole place was spic and span and hans towels were provided even though the advert stated bring your own. Beautifully positioned for access to North Devon an Exmoor and surrounding areas. Well worth the money!"

Just come back from a short stay at the cottage and wish we could have stayed longer. The cottage is in a perfect location and there are plenty of places to visit all of no more than 30 mins journey which is ideal when travelling with children. The cottage itself had everything that you needed and more and was like home from home. We will definately be visiting again."

"We visited this lovely property twice in 2010. A fabulous week of sunshine during Easter, meant that we fell in love with the choice of beaches available. We went back for 2 weeks in August - not such great weather but the cottage was the perfect base for touring Devon, eating too much and the village of Combe Martin put on a spectacular fireworkds display at the end of Carnival week. The cottage facilities are fantastic, meaning we enjoyed lazy lay ins (despite our 2 young children) and meals in as a family. Combe Martin is perfect for rock pooling and walking. We would recommend this as a perfect luxury base for touring Devon!"

Well equiped, clean house in a very good location in the small resort of Coombe Martin. Had a lovely holiday and found the house to be of an excellent condition and with more than enough space for our family.

Just to say thank you for a fantastic few days in Combe Martin. The weather was very windy but mostly dry and didn’t stop us from getting out and about. Absolutely loved the cottage, the interior style, décor and presentation – it is perfect. Also enjoyed Combe Martin and the surrounding area. The kids loved Woolacombe beach and enjoyed the sea with their wetsuits on. We would love to return for longer next year perhaps a week in May or July (during school holidays).

Wonderful property - clean, modern with all the facilities you would expect - like a home from home. Excellent location - 10 minutes from the beach and close to local shops, pubs and restaurants but still quiet and peaceful. Ideal base for exploring north Devon and Exmoor National Park. I would definitely recommend this property and found Combe Martin to be a very welcoming place to visit. I will consider re-booking this property in the future. Thanks to to owners for a wonderful stay. Superb!
