Chimney Cottage is a charming, thatched, self catering holiday cottage which sleeps up to six guests (five adults, plus child, plus cot) in the delightful, historic village of Dunster. This spacious, grade II listed holiday cottage, dates back to the 17th century and is located in a lovely position near the old Mill. The cottage has a south-facing courtyard garden which slopes down to the stream that feeds the Mill (a stone wall with a solid gate ensures safety for children). It was extensively refurbished over the winter of 2007/8 and now provides a high quality of accommodation which includes three bedrooms (one with an en suite shower room, one with an en suite cloakroom), a family bathroom, sitting room and a large kitchen/dining room.
Dunster is a perfect base for exploring Exmoor. It has many attractions, with over 200 listed buildings, the castle dating back to the 11th century, the medieval yarn market, the old mill, the recently restored Tythe barn and a wonderful church. It has several pubs, tea rooms and restaurants, plus essential shops.
Minehead is just three miles away and offers full shopping and entertainment facilities. Dunster is about forty five minutes drive from the M5 and Exmoor's many attractions are all within easy reach.
Together Dunster and Chimney Cottage make an excellent holiday choice for many different people. For families with children the owners provide a high chair, cot and stairgate at no charge. There is an excellent children's playground a couple of hundred yards, and the beach is less than two miles away.
Walkers too will not be disapointed as the porch provides convenient storage for boots and jackets and there are several delightful walks which can be started directly from the cottage. For cyclists the porch provides secure storage for a couple of bikes and Exmoor and the Quantocks have many cycle trails and quiet roads to be explored. Dogs are welcome (£10 per dog per week) and too can enjoy the many nearby walks.
