Buzzards - Self catering holiday cottage in Brompton Regis (near to), Dulverton, Somerset, Exmoor, England - Sleeps 2

Buzzards

Buzzards Cottage is in a dedicated conversion of an old Exmoor stone barn specifically designed for two people (with a child and, or, dog/s as required).

It is of traditional layout with a large upstairs bedroom, with king-size bed and a bathroom with a large cabinet power shower. Downstairs, off a small entrance hallway, is the large living room with a well equipped kitchen area and table/chairs with the comfortable sitting room area on the other side.

Buzzards is a high comfort cottage that combines the character features of an old Exmoor building: uneven walls and large oak beams, with modern comforts and high quality furnishings and fittings.

It is one of just two charming holiday cottages at Weatherham Farm and is situated in a lovely rural position within the Exmoor National Park. Located in the upper part of the River Exe valley, near Dulverton in Somerset, near to Wimbleball Lake.

Fully centrally heated and with log burners for enjoying a real fire, the holiday cottages provide relaxing and comfortable retreats at any time of the year. From the moment you arrive, you can start to unwind immediately, as you will find beds made up, fluffy towels and a roaring log fire during the winter months (or one ready to light!) all waiting to greet you.

Positioned on the softer eastern side of Exmoor, the holiday cottages are surrounded by varied, quiet countryside in which you can escape the crowds and do your own exploring. This is an area of wooded valleys with sparkling streams and rivers, and open hills with gentle farming pastures and heather moorland, dotted with ancient hamlets and villages with traditional pubs and old churches.

Brompton Regis is just one mile away from the cottages with a village shop and pub (good food and ale), and the charming town of Dulverton (the friendly and sedate capital of Exmoor) is four miles with its lovely quaint atmosphere, good selection of shops, restaurants and pubs and statue of Lorna Doone - an interesting little place reminiscent of bygone villages.

Two miles away from the holiday cottages is Wimbleball Lake, where you can enjoy a wide range of outdoor activities and the coast is under half an hour's drive, providing interesting scenery and beaches for walking and also bird watching. Within a twenty minute drive are some of Exmoor's most famous places including Tarr Steps and Dunster village with its historic buildings, medieval yarn market and castle. The surrounding area to Weatherham Farm also provides plenty of access to fly fishing for salmon and trout.

Surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, Buzzards at Weatherham Farm offers a rural peaceful retreat where you can enjoy total relaxation amongst wonderful scenery in any season.

Buzzard Cottage at Weatherham Farm is a little piece of paradise. Warm and cosy the Cottage is set within beautiful grounds that provide you with the most stunning views.
