Situated in a quiet rural location just two miles from the beach and two miles from Gatehouse of Fleet, The Beeches is ideal for those that want both the tranquility of a countryside retreat and the convenience of the town. The cottage comfortably sleeps six guests, in one double and two twin bedrooms. There is a cosy welcoming sitting room with wood burning stove, and also a brand new large kitchen/dining room with doors onto the garden and lovely countryside views. Recently renovated, the owners have made every effort to ensure The Beeches provides a comfortable and homely place to stay for both groups of friends and families.
There is plenty to do on the doorstep with lovely woodland walks and the beach which is only two miles away. The Galloway countryside offers a diverse landscape with hills, valleys, fields and sea all just waiting to be explored by foot, car or bicycle.
There are many sporting activities to enjoy including: walking, golf, mountain-biking and watersports. A more leisurely visit to the nearby towns of Castle Douglas (the “Food Town”) and Kirkcudbright (the “Artists' Town”) also make an interesting and enjoyable day out. Other attractions include: lovely local gardens including Cally Gardens (walking distance); Threave; Castle Kennedy; Woodfall and the Logan Royal Botanic Garden. Just one mile from the cottage, is the Cream O' Galloway visitor centre, with adventure playground, indoor playbarn and cycle routes, not forgetting the finest ice cream in the land!

Beeches is fully equipped to accommodate six guests and accommodation comprises:
Three bedrooms - one double and two twins.
Warm and comfortable sitting room with seating for six on two sofas and a lovely log burning stove for that cosy feeling (although the cottage is warm enough with the central heating). There is also a television, DVD player and video recorder (and a selection of videos and DVDs), as well as a radio/CD player, games and a good choice of books.
Bright spacious kitchen with seating for 6-8 guests around the large kitchen table. The kitchen is equipped with everything you would expect including a selection of cookery books. It is a lovely place to prepare and share a meal, or simply read the paper, or gaze out over the fields.
Additional information: The garden is enclosed, and safe for small children. The Beeches is located on a private road, with little traffic, adding to the feeling of tranquility and safety. Linen and towels are provided, and included in the rental rate, and beds made up for your arrival. One well behaved dog is welcome by arrangement at a charge of £20. Electricity and heating is included within the price.
