Auchencheyne Country House and farm is set in a fantastic position within the Glencairn Valley and is ideal for enjoying relaxing walks, horse riding (you can bring your own horse), more challenging hikes and adventure mountain biking.
Within a self contained wing of this impressive house, six guests can be accommodated in spacious holiday accommodation with three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate entrance to the main house.
Built in 1700, the house is within easy reach of lochs, places of historic interest and mountains and there are plenty of attractions and activities to keep you amused including golf courses, arts and crafts, castles, fishing and shooting - perfect for friends or family who want to enjoy a country break.
The holiday accommodation at Auchencheyne Country House is on a working farm that produces organic vegetables, along with over four hundred beef cows and three thousand breeding sheep. The produce is farmed in a natural way and guests are welcome to join the owners for a day to discover the treasures of Scotland's Glencairn valley.
With so much to see and do you will not want to leave. Within the immediate local area you can enjoy: mountain biking (bikes hire is available at the cottage); wonderful walks; farm tours; tennis - use the owners competition standard clay tennis court (available to hire at £5 per hour); rough shooting (price on request); horse riding (bring your own horse on holiday with livery facilities for up to six horses); three thousand acres of farmland to explore by foot or bike and fishing on the river Nith.
Moniaive Village is just five minutes from Auchencheyne and home to many renowned artists and craftsmen along with offering a grocers shop, Post Office, petrol station, two pubs, fishing and pottery. Within twenty minutes of Auchencheyne you have Drumlanrig Castle and Thornhill Village, along with the many attractions of the Dumfries and Galloway area.

Auchencheyne Holiday Cottage is in a self contained wing of the country house and allows you and your friends or family the freedom to enjoy a country break or 'Bed and Breakfast' stay.
The holiday cottage facilities include:

Oil central heating (included in the price).

CD player, flat screen television with Sky and CD player.
Games room with snooker table (cues and balls provided), table tennis, gaming console and a dartboard with darts.
Baby facilities are available, please enquire with the owner.
Outside: Private barbeque for guests use. Parking for six cars. Tennis court available for hire (racquets not supplied and please bring your own tennis balls). There is a herb garden. Three thousand acres of farmland to explore. Loch fishing and fishing on the famous river Nith can be arranged.
Additional information: Well behaved dogs are welcome. Up to six horses can be accommodated at £15 per horse per day including stable, bedding and grass. Short breaks by arrangement.
