2 Carrants Court is a pretty stone built Victorian character holiday cottage that affords lovely views over the town, bay and downs. It is in a quiet position yet only a few minute's walk from the World Heritage Jurassic coastal path, the beautiful award winning sandy beach, local shops and a nature reserve.
This is a delightful place to explore whether you have a car or not and ideal at any time of the year. Swanage is a charming small town by the sea and has all the attributes of a holiday destination. Besides the many and varied restaurants, pubs with live music, and small and interesting shops, there is mini golf, tennis, bowls and a swimming pool.
The working steam trains runs all year and Durlston Country park, with mock Victorian Castle and visitors centre, has rangers who run regular events for adults and children. There is a diving school on the pier and, in peak season, a free firework display weekly.
Regatta, Carnival, Lifeboat, Arts, and Victorian Weeks are run during the year with other weekends given over to Folk, Blues (2), Jazz, Festival of Flowers, String Festival, Veterans Weekend and a Walking Festival. With all these events plus a few fetes, art shows, produce weekends, classic car rally and triathlon taking place (and all within walking distance of the cottage) it would be hard to be bored in this town. However, it is possible to find a quiet spot and just fish or take a walk on the downs and meet hardly anyone.
From Swanage, steam trains run to Corfe, with its Enid Blyton Ginger Beer Shop and its romantic ruined castle to explore. There are boat trips to Bournemouth, Poole and Brownsea Island and fishing trips from the pier. There is a bus route along the coast from Bournemouth to Exeter for explorers on foot, good bus routes to Poole and Bournemouth and, in summer open deck buses also run on the Bournemouth route, via the Sandbanks Ferry.
A short drive from the town are Monkey World, several small petting farms, Lulworth Cove, Compton Acres Gardens, Kingston Lacy House, local golf courses and Bovington Tank Museum.

The house was everything we expected, and the description given above is spot-on. It's comfortable, well-equipped and furnished to a high standard. Booking, administration, advice and help were excellent. I can't think of a better place to stay - for the price - than here. I recommend it unreservedly!
Always loads to do in this lively little town, wonderful beach, lots of traditional pubs, good resturants. Take a steam train to Corfe, a country walk or do some bird spotting at Arne RSPB site.
