The Moorings is a traditional Devon holiday cottage that was built in the 1700's. Originally used by the local fishermen and their families in Hope Cove, today it provides holiday accommodation for up to seven guests in three bedrooms.

Located in an enviable position approximately twenty yards from Mouthwell beach, The Moorings occupies a prime position in one of the most sought after spots in the South Hams. The property has recently been completely and sympathetically renovated to provide ‘reverse’ living to allow full enjoyment of the fantastic sea views in a spacious, light and comfortable cottage with all the modern conveniences required for an enjoyable seaside holiday. There is also an ‘upstairs’ spacious outside decking area for guests to enjoy barbeques, sunbathing etc.

At The Moorings, you can wake up and watch the sunrise from the East whilst breakfasting outside. The sun sets in the West allowing all day sunshine whilst you dine al fresco with a glass of something cool and refreshing. Enjoy the breathtaking coastal views that extend beyond Burgh Island and along the beautiful South Devon coastline.

The beautiful sanctuary of Hope Cove is a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing holiday by the sea. Close to the southernmost point of the country, bordered by National Trust land, it is on the South Devon Coastal Footpath and enjoys its own wonderful microclimate. The Cove's sandy beaches are both safe and sheltered for children and full of interesting rock pools which will keep all ages amused. It provides an ideal holiday retreat for ramblers, families and nature lovers, with its pretty thatched cottages, wonderful cliff top walks, clean sandy beaches and relaxed atmosphere - a far cry from any sign of an amusement arcade!

There are plenty of great walks to enjoy with eighteen circular walks in and around Hope Cove. Diving, fishing and water-skiing are all practiced in the clear waters and it is easy to sail your own boat from Hope Cove, with an open beach and slipway at Inner Hope.

The village has a shop and Post Office which provides daily essentials, groceries and newspapers as well as freshly baked croissants and bread if you’re up early enough! With a thatched post office, ice cream shop, pub/restaurant, art gallery, hotel/restaurant and bistro you really have everything you need for a perfect holiday.
