One of nine pretty stone self catering holiday cottages set around a courtyard offering unusually spacious self-catering holiday accommodation with superb facilities which include a indoor swimming pool, spa and gym.
The cottages are situated within half a mile of the dramatic coastal footpath which sits above Peppercombe's National Trust shingle beach and the beautiful sandy beach at Westward Ho! is just five miles away. Positioned within five acres of grounds, the cottages enjoy wonderful views of the North Devon coastline and are located between Bideford and Clovelly making this an ideal retreat for exploring this beautiful area. Two local pubs serving food are within walking distance and a quarter of a mile away.
Northway is surrounded by miles of fabulous walks and is the perfect place to escape from the pressure of every day life, with spectacular sea views, rolling open countryside, farm animals and excellent leisure facilities. There is a children's play area, games room and plenty of space for the children to let off steam! This really is the perfect holiday retreat for exploring the dramatic beaches of North Devon and North Cornwall. You can walk from your cottage doorstep to Peppercombe beach, cycle the Tarka Trail or visit the quintessential village of Clovelly which is within easy reach of the cottages.
All cottages are well furnished, well equipped and most of them have their own garden to relax in. What ever you are looking for, there is something to suit everyone with cottages that sleep two to thirteen guests, some with beams and vaulted ceilings, some with romantic four-poster beds and lovely log burners or open fires. Some cottages are pet friendly and others are pet free.
The pretty cobbled village of Clovelly makes a delightful place to visit either on foot or by car and boat trips to Lundy Island are available from the fishing port of Bideford. At the mouth of the nearby Rivers Taw and Torridge lie the attractive twin villages of Instow and Appledore and there is still plenty of opportunity to buy fresh fish to bring home for a special evening meal. In Appledore, The Royal George Inn is well known in the area for its fish restaurant and is a lovely place to enjoy a meal whilst overlooking the bay. A walk along Appledore's quay gives a fine view of the estuary which is home to a small flotilla of yachts. Set back from the seafront are narrow roads which lead past an array of brightly painted cottages housing a selection of craft shops, galleries and places to eat. Instow has a well kept, long sandy beach with extensive sand dunes - ideal for dog walking. "The Bar", the BoatHouse and the Wayfarer pub are well worth stopping at for a drink or a bite to eat.
This the perfect holiday destination for beach lovers, with a pebble beach within walking distance, a lovely sandy beach at Westward Ho! just five miles away and further afield the North Devon beaches of Saunton, Woolacombe, Croyde Bay, and also Bude, Welcombe, Sandymouth Bay and the rugged North Cornwall Coast.

We have just spent a wonderful week with our son, daughter in law, granddaughter and grandson. They have come twice before but it was our first time and we loved it. The joy on the children's faces at animal feeding time with "farmer Bob" was worth the visit on its own! Our grandson said the best bit about Devon was farmer Bob and he even asked if he could stay with him when it was time to go home....we had already heard another child crying as she was going home the previous day, because she too wanted to stay!
The cottage was so well equiped and was a real "home from home", except that we live in a city and don't wake up to glorious views and certainly don't don't have the luxury of the Northway swimming pool.
We would highly recommend this spotless holiday destination, with the location being absolutely "spot on" for the whole family. Thank you Bob and Pauline for allowing us to be part of your "family" for the week and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
An extra thanks to Pauline too for the delicious "welcome cake and flowers" and the opportunity to buy 2 beautiful water colours from those on sale in the games room.
