Kingfisher Cottage is a three bedroom luxury self catering holiday cottage converted from an 18th century barn in the South Hams, near Kingsbridge and award winning beaches in South Devon which sleeps up to seven people. Situated near Kingsbridge, South Devon and located centrally between Dartmouth and Salcombe, and near Totnes in South Devon, UK.
The holiday cottage is located 10 minutes drive from Slapton Sands/Torcross Beach and well situated for Blackpool Sands, East Portlemouth/Mill Bay beaches, Salcombe, and 8 minutes from Stokenham with its farm shop and pubs.
Kingfisher Cottage is overlooking a naturally spring-fed pond that is home to koi carp & ducks and is set in beautiful gardens and surrounded by farmland and the gently rolling countryside of the South Hams The South Hams is a Area of Outstanding natural beauty within South Devon which enjoys one of the mildest climates in the country. Brilliant holiday home in the South Hams. Very large accomodation, plenty big enough for 7 + cot. Very clean and high standard of fittings. Really good location for exploring this lovely part of Devon. Highly Recommended. October 2009
Our stay at Kingfisher cottage was very comfortable. The property had everything we required and more. Situated in a very rural surroundings , but not far from local villages towns and attractions. Mr & Mrs Shenton appear to have thought of every thing . The furniture was of a good standard which made it easy to relax in. The kitchen was well equiped and served us well for the nights we just stayed in and chilled.Log fire with adequate supply of logs. Internet access. Good selection of DVD`s,Videos books and family games .Besides the dedicated front courtyard and side garden the communal gardens provided additional areas to relax in with a charming duck pond in the middle.
We would have no hesitation in recommending this property to any one. October 2009
We had a fabulous week at Kingsfisher Cottage. It's a peaceful, tranquil spot but Kingsbridge is easily accessible from here, as are Thurlestone, Bantham and Bigbury beaches. The cottage is spacious, spotlessly clean and wonderfully comfortable. Would definitely return. (Neighbours all lovely too!) We have stayed in many cottages in the South Hams, but this cottage is value for money. Highly recommended! August 2009
This is a wonderful remote cottage ideal for those who want to get away from it all. It has every facility you would need. The location directions were excellent but they do need to be adhered to get there but you will soon learn and get used to travel to and from the cottage. It was beautifully kept and in pristine condition and yes I would recommend this cottage to a friend. We loved Dartmouth it is a wonderful town with much to see and do - you must go there. We loved Slapton Sands with it huge stoney beach and Blackpool beach and we found Beesands very appealing and loved the food at the Cricketers pub. You can certainly unwind, chill out and de-stress from the pressures of life. Thoroughly recommended. June 2009
Fantastic cottage in an area of oustanding beauty - secluded yet close to some of the best beaches in Devon with only short drives to Kingsbridge, Dartmouth and Salcombe - in short an excellent base for foraying into South Hams. The cottage itself is very comfortable, ample space for a family of up to seven with all the mod-cons one could wish for (even wi-fi! so bring your laptop...). May 2009
