Granary Cottage - Self catering holiday cottage in Eggesford, Chulmleigh, Devon, England - Sleeps 4

Granary Cottage

Granary Cottage was formerly the engine house and grain store at Trenchard Farm and has now been stylishly refurbished to provide holiday accommodation for four guests. It affords its own garden and parking area and has lots of character with high beams, slate and wooden floors, log burner and stonework.

Located in Mid Devon, Granary Cottage is conveniently positioned between Exeter, Dartmoor, Barnstaple and Exmoor with a wealth of interesting places to visit within easy reach - An ideal holiday location for exploring the beautiful Devon rolling countryside and coastline.

Plenty of activities can be enjoyed both locally and within the wider area. Fishermen can enjoy fly fishing on the Little Dart and the River Taw (just five minutes away) or fish for sea bass on the North Devon coastline; Walkers have direct access onto the Tarka Trail which runs through the farm into the valley at Chenson; cyclists can explore the Tarka Trail cycle route, miles of country lanes and the scenic coastline of North Devon; golfers can play a round at nearby Chulmleigh Golf Course and horse riders can bring their own horse away with them for great off road riding opportunities. The North Devon coastline also offers superb surfing and water activities.

Exeter and Barnstaple are both within easy reach of Granary Cottage and just over twenty miles away. You can either take the car or take the Tarka Line which is a five minute stroll from the cottage and provides a perfect way to sit back and take in the beautiful scenery that has changed little over the years. Travelling between Exeter and Barnstaple, the Tarka Line allows you to visit the historical City of Exeter or the unique market town of Barnstaple.

Reviews and Testimonials for Granary Cottage

Our stay in your cottage was absolutely delightful. We were very impressed with the renovations you had done. It has so much character and a genuine homely feel. The kitchen is spacious and well kitted out. There is plenty to do in and around Eggesford. You can make this the sort of holiday you want, if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and slow down the pace, it is remote and quiet. However, there is also a good choice of leisure activities to choose from. Highlights for us were visiting Lynton and Lynmouth, Fly Fishing and the tour of the airfield.. Thank you Nigel and Jackie for your warm hospitality, we hope to return soon. Kofi & Katherine
