Brook Cottage is a dog friendly holiday cottage that is located in the grounds of Lew Barn, where the owners run a Bed and Breakfast, in the village of Bradworthy, Holsworthy. This single storey barn conversion is conveniently located just two miles from the North Devon/Cornwall border and allows easy access to both Devon and Cornwall and their many attractions.
This bright and cheerful holiday home has much to offer at any time of the year. It is close to the seaside town of Clovelly; the shopping towns of Barnstaple and Bideford; the surfing beaches of Bude, Hartland point and Westward Ho and it is within easy reach of the National Parks of Dartmoor and Exmoor (an hour's drive away). It is also ideal for touring, walking and cycling as it is close to the South West cycle route (no.3) and the Tarka trail. The local area also offers horse riding.
Lew Barn is a small friendly establishment in a lovely setting, where guests can enjoy the large diverse gardens which include a fish stocked lake, bordered by two streams. The grounds are ideal for enjoying a relaxing day, where you can have a barbeque or just sit and watch the fish in the lake. Alternatively, you can try your hand at fishing providing you have an up to date rod licence. Then in the evening stroll into Bradworthy village (a short five minute walk) and sample delicious food and fine ale at the local friendly 14th Century Inn. The village boasts one of the largest village squares in the West Country and also has a selection of village shops including a Post Office, village shop (including a butcher) and a couple of general stores where you can stock up on provisions
For those looking to escape the pressures of everyday life and truly unwind, there is no better place. Devon is rich in country inns offering fantastic home-grown produce, beautiful rolling countryside, wonderful beaches, traditional farmers markets and of course, the famous delicious cream tea!

Brook Cottage has recently been converted and has incorporated many green credentials to reduce its carbon footprint. It is positioned within the grounds of Lew Barn and comfortably accommodates up to four guests in two bedrooms.
Accommodation is arranged over one floor and comprises:
Light and airy open plan living area with glazed patio doors to the front and a large door leading out onto a private sunny paved patio to the rear.
Two bedrooms: one with zip and link beds that can be made up as a super king or twin beds; the other bedroom with a king size double. Both rooms have their own TV/DVD's for guest's enjoyment.
Large wet room offering comfortable access for those with limited mobility.
Kitchen area equipped with cooker, microwave, washing machine, fridge freezer, iron and ironing board.
Outside: The cottage has a private allocated parking space next to it. Guests are welcome to enjoy the two acres of meadows and have gated access to the lake where there is a picnic area (care must be taken with young children who must be accompanied at all times).
Additional information: Two well behaved dogs are welcome free of charge by arrangement. An outdoor day kennel is also available and can be booked through the owners during your stay to allow you to take day trips out without your pet should you wish (no extra charge). The cottage is wheelchair friendly but please discuss your personal requirements with the owner before booking to ensure the cottage is suitable both inside and out. Bed linen and towels are provided.
