Beechcomber Cottage (sleeps 6) - Beer captured our hearts and imaginations over 25 years ago and we have been regular visitors ever since. This picture postcard fishing village with a gurgling stream dancing along the main street to the beach, is snuggled in the rolling hills in East Devon's beautiful coastal scenery and drips nostalgia.
The horseshoe beach is the heart of the village, a natural suntrap surrounded by glistening white cliffs. It has clean waters, rock pools to explore at low tide, beach huts to hire, and beach cafes serving hearty breakfasts and homemade treats. The cliffs form part of the South Devon coastal footpath and this area of the coast is a World Heritage Site due to the important fossils found here.
Beer is famous for it's lace, stone and smuggling and is an ideal resort for families, couples and friends getting together. Enjoy the beach cafes, a fishing trip, a stroll along the coastal footpath or a Devon cream tea! Visit Pecorama or the Beer Quarry Caves or the regency towns of Lyme Regis or Sidmouth. The City of Exeter just a forty minute drive.
Beer is the sort of place that once discovered people fall in love with and return year after year and it received the Best Kept Village Award in 2010.
Beachcomber Cottage, built around 1900, nestles in a quiet, sunny spot with great views of the village. It's just four minutes stroll to the beach and one minute from the main street with its good range of local shops, pubs and eateries. The cottage offers superb accommodation for six, is exceptionally well equipped, centrally heated and has a lovely sunny garden with BBQ. It is well located to explore the myriad of local attractions.
