Sundeck is a self contained three bedroom apartment that is situated in an enviable position on Bay View Steps just off the harbour side in the pretty fishing town of Brixham, South Devon. It provides ideal seaside accommodation for families, walking enthusiasts and water babies who want to soak up the ambience of this town and enjoy its amenities, and also be close to the beach (under ten minutes away).

Approached from a flight of steps, the former fisherman’s cottage is refurbished in a clean contemporary seaside style. It has its own small terrace which is ideal for enjoying an evening gin & tonic whilst the sun is setting and has views out across Torbay.

It is convenient for stepping out to the local shops, marina, pubs and restaurants and has breakwater beach nearby, both about a five minute walk and children can enjoy popping down to the harbour side to try their hand at crab fishing.

Brixham has all the charm of a bustling fishing town and was once home to one of the busiest fishing fleets in the country. On the quay there is a statue of William of Orange commemorating his landing there in 1868 and in the harbour lies a replica of Sir Francis Drakes ship ‘The Golden Hind’, which is popular with children. There is a new Marina and a clean pebbly beach and further on an open air seawater swimming pool. Beyond this lies the rocky headland of Berry Head along which the coastal path runs providing spectacular views on the way to the sheltered cove of St Mary’s Bay and beyond.

You can give your car a rest as the shops and beach are only a five minute walk away and you can take the ferry across to Torquay for some shopping, the Living Coasts marine zoo or Torre Abbey Beach.

Alternatively take the ferry the other way to visit the pretty riverside town of Dartmouth with its interesting shops and great places to eat.

There are miles of coastal paths just waiting to be explored, making this a great base for walking enthusiasts and National Trust properties Coleton Fishacre and Greenway gardens are also within the vicinity.

The area offers plenty of beaches to visit around Torbay. Paignton Zoo and Kents Cavern are big attractions and further a field lies the rugged charms of Dartmoor, Plymouths fantastic new aquarium and the renowned Eden project in Cornwall.
