If you are looking for a peaceful holiday cottage that is located in a tranquil beautiful area, yet ideal for visiting all the attractions that Devon has to offer then Lower Tideford Farm is for you. This South Devon farm, nestles in a secluded valley and provides the choice of five delightful holiday cottages.
Accommodation from two to seven guests, Lower Tideford Farm is perfect for couples looking for a romantic break, or families wanting the best of both worlds, a location set in the country and close to the beaches.
Here you can relax and unwind amongst beautiful rolling countryside. Less than ten minutes away is the Dartmouth Golf and Country Club where guests of Lower Tideford Farm have the benefit of a 25% discount off green fees and also the leisure facilities including: Swimming pool; Jacuzzi; Steam room and Fitness Centre. Why not indulge yourself in a massage or Spa Treatment!
The popular Blue Flag beach of Blackpool Sands (see photo below) is just twenty minutes away and not only offers a beautiful sandy beach but also a cafe/restaurant, showers and the opportunity to try windsurfing, canoeing and sailing. There are also other lovely beaches within the area to visit including: Bantham (Blue Flag); Beesands and Bigbury (Blue Flag).
The village of Cornworthy is just one mile away, offering The Hunters Lodge pub. A five minute drive takes you to The Maltsters, famous for being the pub that Keith Floyd owned; or the Watermans Arms - both being on the water's edge of Bow Creak and good places to enjoy a meal.
There are plenty of things to see and do in the surrounding area. The historic town of Dartmouth is just four miles away with its narrow little streets, marina, cobbled market place, boutique shops and great selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants.
The Elizabethan town of Totnes is also a popular place to visit. Steeped in history and built in an elevated position, on a hill above the River Dart, it is a thriving centre for art, music, theatre and natural health and its blend of traditional and alternative cultures make it unique.
Kingsbridge and Salcombe are on the doorstep and one of England's last great wildernesses, Dartmoor National Park, is just a short drive away. Dartmoor provides plenty of opportunities for those who enjoy walking or for those who want to explore its pretty little villages, along with good selection of local inns.
Formerly a dairy farm, the holiday cottages have been converted to a high standard from traditional stone barns and are set down a long private drive away from the road. Although not a working farm there are still animals in the fields and new born lambs can often be seen around Spring and Easter time.
At Lower Tideford Farm you have a choice of things to do - why not visit one of the wonderful Blue Flag Beaches that are nearby; enjoy an invigorating walk across Dartmoor; visit a National Trust property or simply relax and read a book whilst taking in the breathtaking views across the valley. Whatever you choose to do, this is the perfect place in which to relax and unwind.
