Beardon Barton dates back to 1588, and was originally built as a holiday cottage for a local Manor. It is located a mile down a peaceful farm lane right at the end, and is located adjacent to the owners’ 110 acre working farm, which is part arable and part pasture, with about twenty two acres of woodland and two fishing lakes. With no immediate neighbours to the farm and its occupants, Beardon Barton offers its’ visitors peace, tranquillity and safety.

The Farm is set within view of both Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor, and is about ten miles from the child friendly, award winning sandy beach at Widemouth Bay and thirteen miles from Bude and its beaches.

The Cottage is seven miles from the historic town of Launceston, the former capital of/gateway to Cornwall, with its 11th Century Norman Castle & Museum. It is a charming market town, with a mid size twenty four hour supermarket, leisure centre, 18-hole golf course (six miles), steam railway and out of town shopping centres. The nearest pub and local shop/post office are located three to four miles from Beardon.

Beardon Barton is ideally located for both casual walkers with its bridle and pathways crossing its own woodland and lake areas and for more dedicated ramblers with Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor, Camel Trail and the South West Coastal Path within easy striking distance.

North Cornwall is famous for its rugged coast line and cliff top paths, and its varied and welcoming beaches (including Widemouth, Crackington Haven, Polzeath and Rock) to both surfers, sunbathers and swimmers. It has many historic fishing ports, notably Padstow, Port Isaac and Boscastle within easy reach.

Coarse Fishing (Tench & Carp) is available on site; more sophisticated lake facilities are available at Roadford Lake with similar private facilities within ten miles, and Sea Fishing at Widemouth.

The Eden Project, Cotehele House, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, and the City of Exeter, the historic capital of Devon, are all no more than 45 minutes drive away. There are many children’s leisure parks within easy driving distance including Trethorne (eight miles) and Flambards.
