Heather cottage is a unique little gem of a holiday cottage, with its own private entrance, parking area and lovely sunny garden which is full of indigenous plants such as ferns, heathers, wisteria, mosses, honeysuckle and ivy. There are two small stone built ponds which perfectly add to the charm and the Dartmoor theme of the garden.
The Cottage sleeps two guests and has been awarded 4 Stars by VisitBritain. It is surrounded by its own garden trees and the owners large private garden and guests may have the use of a hot tub privately.
Sitting on the edge of the moorland town of Okehampton, just off the main A30, Heather Cottage is conveniently located, just a five minute walk up onto the moor and an eight minute walk from the town centre with its intimate cinema, Waitrose, choice of pubs and restaurants and shops including a quality butcher and bakers. There are also three great antique shops, the Museum of Rural Crafts, two golf courses, mountain bike courses through the woods, the granite way cycle path (with bike hire), The Arts Gallery full of locally sourced quality arts and crafts and the medieval castle just outside the town.
Okehampton is centrally located in Devon and provides a perfect base from which to explore both the north and south coasts. It is ideal for visiting the many attractions that both Devon and Cornwall have to offer including The Eden Project which is only a one hour drive away. This is an ideal holiday destination for walkers, bird watchers, cyclists and all those who love the countryside with the benefit of all the conveniences that a small town has to offer.

Comfortable sitting/dining room area with a practical gas ‘wood burner’ stove, settee, dining table and lovely high ceilings.
Victorian styled bedroom with click and zip beds which can be made up as either a Super king-size bed or two large comfortable singles.
Shower room that is light, bright and modern.
Heather Cottage has plenty of off road parking and also offers guests wireless internet both inside and in the garden, for those who need to keep in touch with the outside world.
Additional information: Guests may have the use of a hot tub privately. The Cottage is centrally heated. Bed linen, towels, heating, linen, electricity and a welcome pack are included in the price. Many little extras are also included such as toilet rolls, washing-up liquid, tea, coffee and soap. Well behaved dogs welcome by arrangement at no extra charge. Flexible changeover day is offered along with short breaks (three days minimum) all year round. No children except by prior request (at parents risk due to ponds). Cooked meals can also be prepared at prior request.

Thank you so much we had a great stay in lovely area, incredible walks and what a fabulous cedar wood hot tub…perfect.
We have enjoyed every aspect of our stay, the welcome, the gifts the walks, the local pubs and the peace and quiet.
Heather cottage is a dream warm comfortable clean we enjoyed the sunny garden, the peace and quiet, the walks, we will be back.
The bed is so large and comfortable we have had a very relaxing break and feel totally refreshed.
It was lovely not using the car once during our stay, there is so much to do! Literally on your door step.Yet it’s quiet and peaceful what a great place thank you.
The photos on line do not do Heather cottage justice its so much nicer than we imagined ,its larger lighter and very beautifully designed the local photographs of Dartmoor are a nice touch.
