Dartmoor National Park is the largest area of open countryside in Southern England. It is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty which covers three hundred and fifty square miles of breathtaking landscape which is a haven for wildlife, and was featured on television's 'Seven Natural Wonders' as the top natural wonder in the South West.
The entire area is rich in antiquities and history, hosting more archaeological sites and ancient monuments than anywhere else in Europe. It also has many traditional tales, ghost stories and folklore that stem from its unique history.
The broader West Country area is home to England's only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site - the East Devon and Dorset Coast and Devon itself boasts two dramatic coastlines with many fantastic beaches for water sports and relaxation.
