The Old Chapel dates back to 1870 and has been tastefully converted to provide a delightful holiday retreat in the pretty village of Talkin which can accommodate up to six guests. 

This delightful holiday cottage is perfectly located for exploring Hadrian's Wall (with its closest point being approximately five miles away), the Lake District (Ullswater being less than twenty five miles away) and the picturesque Eden Valley, and it provides a peaceful retreat to return home too after an exciting day touring the area.

The local pub/restaurant (the Blacksmiths Arms) is within walking distance and Brampton golf course and Talkin Tarn (excellent for coarse fishing, walking and boating) are both nearby. Cycle hire is available locally, and there are a number of good routes across the fells, on quiet roads to explore.  For those who enjoy birdwatching and wildlife, Geltsdale RSPB Reserve (home to a small number of Black Grouse and other upland birds) is closeby.

Gretna Green (for the romantics out there!) on the Scottish Border is easily accessible and just eleven miles away and the market town of Brampton is just three miles and ideal for shopping.  A little further afield, but well worth a visit, is Carlisle - the Great Border City where you can visit the cathedral, castle and shopping centre.

For those who want to explore the Lake District, Hadrian's Wall, the Eden Valley and even the Scottish Borders, this delightful holiday cottage provides very comfortable, reasonably priced holiday accommodation.   Perfectly located in a peaceful pretty village, this is an ideal place to relax and a good base from which to explore the wider area and its many attractions.
