Ash Cottage is situated within Cumbria and just outside the small village of Smithfield. This delightful Cottage has recently been renovated from a byre (cow shed) and is situated on a small farm amongst lovely countryside.
This is an ideal base for those who enjoy walking or cycling with many local public footpaths and cycle paths on your doorstep. Alternatively why not try a spot of fishing with the rivers Esk, Eden, Irthing and local fish farms, new mills at Brampton and Oak Bank Fisheries in Longtown, all nearby. Locally you can also enjoy golf and horse riding or for those who enjoy shopping, visit the market town of Brampton (approximately seven miles) and the City of Carlisle (eight miles) with its castle, Tullie House and Cathedral.
Hadrian’s Wall, Solway Firth, the Scottish borders, the Lake District, Kielder Water and the Pennines are too within easy reach and just an hour’s drive, all providing numerous attractions and places of interest to visit.
With plenty to see and do this is an ideal base to simply relax amongst the countryside or use as a base for exploring the area.

Ash cottage provides the following facilities:
Open plan living and kitchen area with a tiled floor and underfloor heating.
Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob, microwave and all essentials required for your stay.
Lounge area, separated by a breakfast bar and comfortably furnished with a flat screen television, DVD player and selection of books and games. Patio doors open from the lounge to the outside area giving stunning views over open fields.
Two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with adult bunk beds.
Bathroom with a shower over bath, shaving light and mirror.
Utility room providing washing machine, iron, ironing board and a large fridge freezer.
Outside: There is a paved patio area outside the cottage including garden furniture and barbecue, lawn area and a large paved yard at the front with plenty of room for parking. Secure storage for bicycles can also be arranged. There are beautiful views to be admired from the cottage with a variety of wildlife to be seen nearby including deer.
Additional information: All bed linen and towels are provided. The cottage is tastefully decorated to a high standard with underfloor oil heating throughout. Unfortunately no smoking and no pets are allowed in the cottage. The owners live across from the cottage so are available if needed to provide any help or information.
