Hudgill Farm Barn has been recently converted into two lovely comfortable holiday cottages which provide both modern comforts with a wealth of old beams and character. These two charming holiday cottage are situated close to Alston, Weardale and Cross Fell, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Eden district of Cumbria.
The cottages have been designed and finished to a high standard to provide a relaxing holiday retreat with wildlife all around. They are ideally situated for those looking for a peaceful, rural setting with excellent opportunities for walking and cycling throughout the beautiful North Pennines.
A pub and two excellent restaurants are within just a five minutes walk from the barn. Penrith, the North Lakes and Hadrian's Wall are all within easy reach by car. The Pennine Way and C2C walking and cycle route are within two miles.
There are plenty of tracks, bridle paths and green lanes around Alston to enjoy. Hudgill is an ideal starting point for many mountain bike routes and hiking trails. Wellhope View provides an excellent comfortable view point for bird watchers and do not be surprised to find Roe deer grazing and hares boxing next to the barn in the early morning.
The Barn is situated in one of the areas of Britain that has very little light pollution, so star gazing is a relaxing pastime.
Middlefell View sleeps six guests with two twin rooms and one double. Wellhope View sleeps four with one twin and one double. They can also be rented together to accommodate larger parties of ten guests.

Middlefell view is one half of the converted barn and has a very large south facing window with a lovely sunny window seat in the lounge area where the old barn door used to be. The under floor heating gives a pleasant overall warm atmosphere, which can be enhanced by the use of the wood burning stove.
There is a small enclosed private garden with cobbled paths outside and dry stone walls and a secure stone outhouse for storage of bikes etc. There is plenty of car parking space around the barn, which is positioned about 100 metres from the road.
There are footpaths leading directly from the barn to walk along the river or over the local moors.
Additional information: All bed linen and towels are included. All fuel and electricity is included for the oil fired heating and wood-burning stove. The secure cycle store will be available from May 2008. Pets are welcome if kept under control, as sheep & lambs graze within a few metres of the barn. Twin rooms can be converted to doubles if required. Short breaks may be available - please enquire with owner.
