The Stables is a recently converted two bedroom Cotswold stone holiday cottage near the picturesque villages of Alvescot and Shilton. This bright and clean cottage boasts a lovely mixture of modern amenities such as a fully fitted kitchen, power showers and under floor heating with traditional features such as exposed timber beams and stone walls.
With the historic town of Burford only a few miles away it is the ideal base for a family holiday. The Stables is part of the recently converted 19th century Cotswold stone barn and cottages, situated close to the footpath between Alvescot and Shilton.
Set some four hundred yards back from the nearest road, The Stables is surrounded by fields and the lovely Oxfordshire countryside. There are terrific walks to the picturesque villages (and pubs!) of Shilton and Alvescot. There are numerous cycling opportunities including the Oxfordshire Cycleway which passes a few miles to the north. There is, within one mile, a small selection of shops for day to day requirements.
The Stables is well positioned for visiting all the historic and beautiful villages in West Oxfordshire such as Burford, Bibury and Woodstock. The Cotswold Wildlife Park is three miles away and Blenheim Palace is a twenty minute drive away. The cottage is also only a forty minute drive from the famous cities of Oxford and Cheltenham. Designer Retail Outlets at Bicester Village and Swindon are only thirty five miutes away.

The Stables sleeps six people via the three bedrooms, but we are able to provide a cot or sofa bed to accommodate an additional child or adult. There is a seventh person supplement of £50 per additional person for the duration of the stay.
Accommodation comprises:
Ground floor - Modern open plan living, dining and kitchen area.
Living area with comfortable seating for five, flat screen digital television and DVD/CD player. This area also has a dining table which seats four.
Fully fitted modern kitchen has electric cooking
facilities, microwave, dishwasher and a washing machine. A further, larger
washing machine, tumble dryer and large upright freezer are available for use
if required.
Twin bedroom which is ideal for children, with a comfortable
seating area with an additional sofa bed, DVD player and lots of play space.
Shower/WC room with power shower and shaver point.
Entrance hall and stairs to first floor.
The ground floor has the benefit of under floor heating.
First floor
King size double bedroom.
Double bed bedroom with wardrobe and bedside cabinets plus additional seating and views over surrounding countryside.
Family bathroom with bath, power shower, WC, heated towel rail and shaver point.
Additional sleeping: The is an opportunity to use an additional double
bedroom with television and en-suite facilities. This additional accommodation is available for a further 40% of the applicable weekly/daily rate.
Additional information: Prices are all inclusive. Cot, bedding and high chair available for babies. Changeover day Friday (and Monday for short breaks). Pets are welcome, there is a supplement of £30 per pet for the duration of the stay.
