This lovely little stone cottage was originally where a previous owner kept her pony and trap for transport in the 1880's. It has since been superbly converted into a delightful detached holiday cottage which is positioned on the edge of the owner's lawned garden and part of the old village school.
Stable Cottage is located in the village of Chadlington which is set on the northern slope of the Evenlode valley and just minutes away from the enchanting Wychwood forest. Designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is a perfect base for exploring the many delights of the "undiscovered Cotswolds" as well as visiting the well known quintessential villages and towns of Stow on the Wold, Bibury and Bourton on the Water, for which the Cotswold's is renowned. The market towns of Witney, Burford and Chipping Norton are too within easy reach, as is Woodstock, home of Blenheim Palace and the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill.
The cottage offers an excellent range of books, maps and guides on the area to help you discover all the hidden delights! Chadlington Village itself offers everything you may need - A warm welcome awaits you at The Tite Inn, a lovely 17th Century pub renowned for its excellent fresh food, award-winning draught beers, sunny gardens and superb views. Slatters Quality Foods and Butchers has an excellent reputation for fine fresh produce and is situated at the centre of the village. The village Post Office and newsagent offers a friendly personal service, freshly baked bread and a wealth of local information.
There are many places of interest and attractions to see during your stay. The impressive Regency architecture of Cheltenham and the "dreaming spires" of Oxford are a must, as is Warwick Castle, the finest medieval castle in England. Stratford upon Avon, is within easy reach and was the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Today it offers excellent shopping, many fine restaurants and pubs and of course the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
For those who want to relax a little closer to home, you can purchase a fishing license from the local Post Office and enjoy a relaxing day fishing on the River Evenlode just one mile away. The village has a network of footpaths and bridleways just waiting to be explored and the former royal hunting ground of Wychwood Forest is only minutes away, offering further lovely walks.

Additional information: The cottage is heated by night storage heaters, and all electricity is included. All linen is provided, including towels. A cot and high chair are available for babies if required. One pet welcome free of charge. Private parking for up to two cars. Garden furniture and BBQ are also provided for guests' use. To get your holiday off to a good start, on arrival, we provide you with a welcome tray of fresh farm eggs, home-made biscuits and jams.
