Rose Tree Cottage is a delightful Grade II listed detached stone holiday cottage that nestles in the Heart of the quintessential Cotswolds village of Lower Slaughter. It is in an enviable position overlooking the old mill, just fifty yards from the River Eye and within walking distance of two hotels - This truly is an idyllic Cotswold location and an ideal place for a relaxing holiday or to use as a base for exploring the area.
Lower Slaughter lies in the heart of the Cotswolds, near to the historic market town of Stow-on-the-Wold and pretty village of Bourton-on-the-Water. The River Eye winds its way through the middle of the village with small stone bridges acting as crossing points. The mill has a museum and gift shop, along with riverside tea rooms and a working water wheel.
Lower Slaughter Manor is a grand country house hotel in the heart of the village, as is Washbourne Court which is a charming riverside hotel offering a restaurant, bar menu and in the summer months, drinks, tea or snacks on the Riverside Terrace.
Bourton-on-the-Water is just five minutes drive away with the local supermarket situated en route. A very pretty historic village with lots of interesting shops, tea rooms, pubs and restaurants, it offers plenty of attractions including: Birdland Park and Gardens, Cotswold Motoring Museum and Toy Collection, The Model Village, Cotswold Perfumery, Fundays Play Barn, The Dragonfly Maze, Bourton Model Railway, Cotswold Farm Park and Cotswold Pottery.
Also in the locality are the villages of Broadway, Chipping Campden, Upper Slaughter and Burford, along with the popular towns of Stratford-upon-Avon and Cheltenham.
Other Cotswold attractions include Hidcote Manor Gardens, Blenheim Palace, Painswick Gardens, Sudeley Castle and Kiftsgate Court Garden.

Rose Tree Cottage has a huge inglenook fireplace, Cotswold stone floors on the ground floor, stone mullion windows and central heating, making it ideal all year round. Having been recently refurbished there is a new kitchen, ensuite shower room and bathroom. The front garden is enclosed by dry stone walls and hedges and overlooks the old mill.
Accommodation comprises:
Lounge/dining room with inglenook fireplace and wood burning stove, leather corner sofa, Laura Ashley chairs, oak furniture and an oak dining table which seats six. There is a flat screen television, DVD player and music system.
Kitchen with wooden work tops, butlers sink, glass cabinets and an extensive range of appliances.
Bathroom which is downstairs by the lobby, with full size bath, high level toilet and basin with a shower over the bath.
Ground floor twin bedded room leading from the dining area with a small gothic wardrobe and separate cupboard.
Upstairs
Comfortable double bedroom with oak furniture and an ensuite with a large corner shower tiled with Cotswold stone mosaic tiles, basin and toilet.
Twin bedded room with oak furniture.
Outside: There is an enclosed cottage garden with a small lawn and shrubs.
Additional information: The decoration throughout is modern in style but the furniture itself is period design to give the cottage that authentic feel. Well behaved Dogs are accepted at an additional cost of £25 per pet, per week.
