Honey Cottage is a delightful, period Cotswolds stone holiday cottage, perfectly located in the heart of the historic market town of Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds. Furnished and equipped to a high standard of comfort and style, Honey Cottage is ideally positioned for exploring the Cotswolds and its many attractions, enjoying lovely walks and eating out or browsing the interesting little shops.
Dating back to c1650, Honey Cottage still retains many of its wonderful original features including the original Cotswolds stone floor, winding stone staircase and fantastic inglenook fireplace with wood burning stove. These features have been enhanced by the use of lovely traditional fabrics, antique pine furniture and crisp linens and with a romantic double bedroom, it is an ideal retreat for a romantic break or longer holiday. It also has a twin bedroom to accommodate parties of four.
Sitting in the very heart of this delightful town, Honey Cottage is only a short stroll (under a minute) from the market square with its great selection of restaurants, gastro-pubs, delicatessens, art galleries and shops. Stow is perfectly placed for exploring the Cotswolds, with popular towns and villages such as Chipping Campden, Chipping Norton, Broadway and Burford just a short drive away. Oxford, Cheltenham and Stratford-upon-Avon are too within easy driving distance (a pleasant forty five minute to one hour drive) and you can even enjoy a day trip to the Roman town of Bath (around one and a half hours), making this an ideal place to base yourself.
For those who would prefer to explore this lovely area by foot or bike, there are a good selection of walks from the front door through beautiful rolling countryside to pretty Cotswolds villages such as The Slaughters, Broadwell, Oddington, Bleddington and even Bourton-on-the-Water. Bicycles can also be hired locally.
The Cotswolds is a beautiful part of England that offers numerous attractions and places of interest including: National Trust properties and gardens; quintessential pretty English villages; museums, wildlife parks and Blenheim Palace to name just a few. Welcoming sitting room where an original flagstone floor, wonderful inglenook fireplace housing a log burner and a pretty bay window help to create a charming and relaxing atmosphere. There is a comfortable sofa and armchairs and also a flat screen television and DVD player, along with a selection of DVD's for guest's enjoyment. Off the sitting room is a cupboard storing books and games and providing plenty of room for storing coats and boots.
Well equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen and breakfast room where there is plenty of room to enjoy cooking and enjoying a romantic meal. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave, electric oven and hob, fridge (with freezer compartment), washer/dryer and dishwasher, along with all the china, utensils and equipment you may need to prepare and cook a special meal.
An enclosed courtyard garden leads off the kitchen and provides an ideal place for enjoying lunch or a glass of wine on a sunny day (table, chairs and sun umbrella are provided).
From the sitting room, an old Cotswold stone winding staircase leads up to the first floor where there is a bathroom (with bath, WC, hand basin and electric shower over bath) and a very pretty twin bedroom with lovely cast iron beds, antique pine furniture and crisp linens.
The stairs continue up to a very romantic double bedroom with antique pine furniture and skylight, giving rooftop views across the old town and church.

The stairs up to the double bedroom on the second floor are steep and due to the lovely old nature of this period property, some doorways and ceilings are low in places.
