Farthing Cottage - Self catering holiday cottage in Stow-on-the-Wold, Gloucestershire, The Cotswolds, England - Sleeps 2

Farthing Cottage

Farthing Cottage is a very pretty traditional Cotswolds cottage which guests return back to time and time again because of its perfect location, lovely decor and traditional character - whether you want to eat out every night, enjoy a barbeque in the garden or snuggle up in front of a roaring log fire, this is the ideal place!

The cottage is available for both long and short breaks (out of high season or at short notice). It is perfectly situated in a quiet back water of the popular historic Cotswolds market town of Stow-on-the-Wold, yet only a two minute stroll to the market square with its excellent selection of restaurants, gastro-pubs, delicatessens, art galleries and interesting little shops.

Being over 200 years old, the cottage has a wealth of character with beams, the original Cotswolds stone floor, stone walls and an open fireplace. This is complemented by lovely furnishings, traditional fabrics, antique pine furniture, a romantic hand carved four poster bed and modern facilities including a flat screen television (with iPod docking and freeview channels), dishwasher, Hi-fi, wireless internet access throughout the cottage (free of charge), washer/dryer and DVD player.

Farthing Cottage benefits from private off-road parking for one to two cars which is located at the front of the cottage. From here the cottage is approached through a pretty cottage garden which is a sun trap and a perfect place to get away from it all and relax. Table, chairs, sun umbrella, two wooden steamers (during warmer months) and BBQ are provided for guests use and there are herbs growing in the garden which guests are welcome to help themselves too - Why not buy some lovely local produce and cook yourself a romantic candelit supper or enjoy a BBQ and eat alfresco!

Perfect for couples, Farthing Cottage is ideal for those who want a romantic and relaxing holiday and also ideal for those wishing to explore the many delights that the Cotswold's has to offer. It also has some wonderful walks through rolling countryside to pretty villages from the front door (most including a pub for refreshments!) and benefits from being in the heart of one of the most popular historic towns in the Cotswold's with excellent eating establishments.

Reviews and Testimonials for Farthing Cottage

"everything we needed for a truly romantic break. The cottage was beautiful, really clean and a real pleasure to come home to - sitting by the fire while it snowed outside made it perfect."

"the perfect place to spend our honey moon - loved the quiet location and pretty garden to relax in and thoroughly enjoyed walking into the town of an evening for dinner"

"It was a perfect place for home-base. The cottage itself is utterly charming, and you have done a first-rate job of outfitting it. The piece de resistance was when I was trying to decide what pot I would use to cook the farm-fresh asparagus that we had picked up on one of our rambles and I came upon an asparagus pot! I couldn't believe it.

Very clean, fabulously and tastefully furnished, and an extremely efficient, little cottage."

"Just a quick line to say thank you for the wonderful break Marilyn and I had last week. The cottage is lovely, we both could have easily stayed for a month!"

"Yet another wonderful stay at Farthing Cottage - we can wait to return again!"
