Talehay is home to five charming holiday cottages that are located just a mile from the village of Pelynt, near the popular seaside town of Looe in Cornwall. Set amongst lovely unspoilt open countryside, the cottages are approached down a quiet country lane and provide holiday accommodation for two to four guests in each cottage. Offering a high standard of comfort and cleanliness, the cottages provide an ideal base for exploring Cornwall and its many attractions.
The breathtaking Cornish coastline with spectacular views and secluded sandy coves is just three miles away, making Talehay a perfect place to enjoy a relaxing beach holiday at any time of the year. Here you can escape from the pressures of everyday life and recharge your batteries in a tranquil Cornish setting.
Looe is an ancient fishing port that has a large sandy beach bordered by its promenade and pier. The busy working harbour is the hub of the town with fish landing and sold in the market daily. There are a good selection of cafés, pubs, restaurants and shops in the town along with banks and building societies.
The pretty quaint fishing village of Polperro is a charming place to visit with its lovely former fishermen's and smugglers cottages winding their way down to the harbour where you will find interesting little shops and a good selection of restaurants and pubs.
Cornwall's gentler climate is influenced by the Gulf Stream which makes it perfect for a break out of season. The famous Eden Project, many National Trust properties (including Antony and Lanhydrock), National Marine Aquarium, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Bodmin Moor, The Camel Trail and Dartmoor are all within easy reach and just twenty five miles from Talehay.

Talehay Farmhouse itself is an ancient Cornish farmstead that is Grade II listed and dates back to the 17th Century. No longer a working farm, Talehay overlooks rolling countryside with its converted stone holiday cottages located around a central courtyard. There are two and a half acres of pasture land where sheep and chickens are kept to the rear of the farm - a real favourite with children. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday where you can 'get away from it all' in a tranquil setting then Talehay is for you.
The Stables is featured within this advert and sleeps four guests in unique holiday accommodation that offers a special charm with high vaulted beamed ceilings, wood burning stove (there is also central heating) and a galleried double bedroom with lovely views across the surrounding fields. Fully equipped, The Stables offers Freeview television, CD/radio, DVD/video and Wi-Fi. Downstairs is a lounge/dining room, fully equipped kitchen with washer/dryer, twin bedroom and a bathroom with bath/shower and WC.
The Lodge sleeps two guests + cot and is a spacious, bright open plan studio type holiday cottage that is ideal for couples or smaller families. There is a double bedroom that has plenty of room for an occasional bed. The cottage is centrally heated, has remote control television, video and has a fully equipped kitchen including automatic washer/dryer and microwave oven. There is a separate bath/shower room and WC and The Lodge sits in spacious gardens with a large lawned area, providing a perfect place for barbecues and picnics where children can play safely.
The Coach House sleeps two guests (+ cot) and is a bright spacious holiday cottage set out on one level. This detached cottage affords lovely uninterrupted views over open countryside and has one double bedroom (with adjoining bathroom), well-equipped kitchen with washer/dryer and microwave, lounge/dining area, central heating, Freeveiw television, DVD/video player, CD/radio and Wi-Fi access.
Barn and Owl Cottages are both cosy traditional holiday cottages with lovely stone fireplaces and oak beams. Barn Cottage has a double bedroom with adjoining bath/shower room and Owl Cottage has one double and one twin bedroom with bath/shower room and WC. Both holiday cottages have lounge/dining areas with Freeview television, CD/radio, DVD/video recorder and Wi-Fi. They have fully equipped kitchens with washer/dryers and microwaves, central heating and both have outside patios which provide an ideal place to enjoy the late afternoon sun.
